00:00We have been focusing on hydrogen energy for over 30 years through research and development
00:09in fuel cell technologies and FCEVs with the aim of realizing carbon neutrality.
00:18This led us to develop the new fuel cell system in collaboration with General Motors.
00:24The new system is more than twice as durable as the conventional type.
00:30The low temperature resistance performance has also been greatly improved.
00:42The system was evolved by a new cell structure.
00:47The cell is formed by three plates, two bipolar plates and a unitized electrode assembly.
00:56Simple structure has been realized by integrating flow channels on bipolar plates.
01:02Furthermore, the configuration of cooling flow channels in the bipolar plate consisting
01:08of two plates allows each cell to cool efficiently and improves durability.
01:15This has been realized through extremely advanced welding technology.
01:20Ensuring stability in welding strength between plates of 0.1 mm thickness has successfully
01:26achieved cooling individual cells.
01:37Hydrogen and airflow inside the stack on both sides of the unitized electrode assembly and
01:42the heat generated during power generation is removed by the cooling water inside the
01:48bipolar plates.
01:51Power is generated within each cell by reacting hydrogen with oxygen in the air.
01:57Only water is emitted.
02:00But power generation efficiency drops in the area around the cell if the humidity is too
02:07high or too low.
02:09The optimization of humidity control with an electric thermal valve and a high efficiency
02:15humidifier improves the stability of power generation performance.
02:20This also prevents cell degradation and improves durability.
02:25New fuel cell system evolved through a variety of technologies.
02:36The new fuel cell system will be installed in CRV-FCEV.
02:51CRV-FCEV with the new fuel cell system that achieves clean and powerful driving realizes
02:58carbon neutrality.
