00:00Hi there, my name's Jonathan Cooper and welcome to my Lifeline Exhibition here at the Wollongong Art Gallery.
00:08Lifeline is all shot in England and it's an imagined realism idea.
00:14What I've tried to do throughout this whole exhibition is put all these little people into scenarios
00:21where us, the normal people, don't realise that they're inhabiting our world.
00:27So by using all the street furniture, ropes, rings, bits of pole,
00:38I've managed to put these little people into the most unbelievable situations.
00:45Also, what I try and do when I'm taking pictures, in order to keep this fantasy going,
00:51everything has to be perfectly framed so it doesn't look as if it's real.
00:57So when you go through the exhibition, as you move through it, you'll slowly see that everything is perfectly matched.
01:04The way I do that is I sit and I wait for the situation to happen.
01:10Sometimes it just happens, but often I know it's going to happen.
01:15So for example here, I'll wait, get everything perfectly lined up and I'll wait for a little person to come walking in.
01:22Bang, that's when I'll catch it.
