00:02that he talked to a wide range of voters.

00:05He overwhelmingly heard from people

00:07that they wanted him to stay in the race.

00:09Our polling shows that 76% of Democrats

00:11think he is too old to run this year.

00:14How is he coming to this conclusion?

00:16Are you sure that a handful of events

00:18is giving him a representative view of swing state voters?

00:21So, look, I mean, look, that has been —

00:23you all have asked me about polling in his age

00:25for I feel like a year now.

00:27It's come up many, many times.

00:29And, you know, I'm not going to speak to polls.

00:32It's not something I'm going to do from here.

00:34I'm just going to let the experts,

00:35the pundits, and all of you —

00:37No, no, wait.

00:39I was about to answer a question.

00:40Just give me a second.

00:42Look, for the past three and a half years,

00:45the president has been out there talking to voters.

00:48And if you think about what he was referring to,

00:51when we went to —

00:53when he went to Atlanta right after the watch party,

00:56he saw — he literally did a rope line.

01:00Some of your colleagues were there.

01:01Some of your colleagues spoke to some of the folks

01:04who were there and heard from them directly.

01:06He heard from folks at the rope line.

01:08I mean, these are everyday — engaging with everyday people.

01:12That's what he did.

01:14Landed at 2 a.m. in the morning in North Carolina,

01:17hundreds of people there.

01:18He did a rope line, engaged with everyday people.

01:22The next day, thousands of folks,

01:24thousands of people were at the North Carolina event.

01:28And you heard chants,

01:30let's go, Joe, we love you, Joe.

01:32I mean, that's something that you feel, right?

01:34That's something that you feel out there.

01:37And that's what he feels out there.

01:38The next day, he went to New York,

01:41and he was able to speak to some supporters there

01:45and then went to New Jersey.

01:47So it is a continuation.

01:49On Sunday, 600 people at the church.

01:52If you watch that service, you heard from that congregation.

01:59If you watched him in Harrisburg,

02:00you saw people, you saw him engaging with people.

02:03I mean, there's nothing that takes away,

02:05all respect to the polling out there,

02:07but nothing takes away, I don't think,

02:10from engaging with everyday Americans.

02:12I think that matters, too.

02:13And that's just — I'm just laying out

02:16the last 10 or 12 days, right?

02:18That's just the last 10 or 12 days.

02:20One more. Over the weekend,

02:21the New York Times reported on a senior White House official

02:24who apparently had worked with the President

02:26in his vice presidency in the 2020 campaign,

02:29said he shouldn't seek reelection.

02:30They thought he was not up to it.

02:32He was showing signs of his age.

02:34Does the White House know who this person is

02:36or made any effort to find out?

02:37And are you comfortable having someone

02:39who apparently is traveling with him

02:40and working with him in this way who thinks this?

02:42I mean, look, that is —

02:44that is the first time I've ever heard

02:45that was in that reporting.

02:48You know, we — this is not —

02:50this is not the last administration

02:52where we try to find who is, you know, speaking or leaking.

02:56That's not something that we do here.

02:58Everybody has their opinion, but that is the first time

02:59I've ever heard anything like that.

03:01I've never heard anyone speak in that way from here.
