Mickelson and DeChambeau 'surprised but excited' by Ryder Cup captain pick

00:08John's his passion for the Ryder Cup is greater than just about any player I've

00:12ever seen his love for the Ryder Cup is more than anybody I know and I think

00:20he's gonna lead with that type of passion I think he's good I think he's

00:22incredible but I'm really really happy for him I think we all are really happy

00:27for him knowing how how much how gut-wrenching it was not to be part of

00:31the team last year but to now have the opportunity to lead and go forward I

00:35think is great yeah look I'm excited for him I think it's a great opportunity for

00:39him especially as it relates to younger players he's gonna see that younger

00:44threshold and obviously relate to them a lot more I would say because of his age

00:49I mean what is he 38 I think something like that yeah so I think he's he's

00:54seen the younger generations games he's still out there he's still playing he's

00:57still competing and so it's great to have some relatability there as it comes

01:01to picking the best players I think that's the right approach and I couldn't
