00:00Honestly, from afar, this was not something that was always playing on my mind, it really
00:05wasn't. But the more I got into the detail of it, the more reasons, because you try and
00:13make a sensible decision, not just total emotion, everything just come back to certain feelings
00:21I had about being involved with Wales. And really, if I look at it, it never really left
00:27me.
00:28The new boss says that the whole association has a winning formula now, where for years
00:32we were left in the footballing wilderness for much of when Bellas was playing. But now
00:36major tournaments should be the norm, and he hopes to take Wales there consistently.
00:42If you look at the set-up, and you look at the organisation and where it is now, it's
00:47geared for success and it's geared to qualify. And it's just for ourselves, including myself,
00:53is to enhance that and improve it, and to keep improving where we are now at this present
00:59moment. Of course, we've had a knock-back because we didn't enter, we weren't involved
01:03in a few European Championships, but to make sure that hopefully we're able to go to a
01:07World Cup again, and hopefully with the Euros then after. So that's a real motivation as
01:12well.
01:13Obviously, one of the things that followed Craig Bellamy throughout his playing days
01:16was his bust-ups and question marks over his temperament. He says now, though, that he's
01:21older and wiser, but understands that he hasn't yet proven he's past it, but knows
01:25that this is his opportunity to do so.
01:28My thought process was about becoming number one then, because inexperience, that's always
01:34going to be thrown, but also temperament, that's a nice word that usually likes to get
01:39used. Until I'm able to do it, and hopefully then after a few months, after a year, maybe
01:47two, maybe three, I don't know. I think you have a good understanding and temperament's
01:52fine, yet now he has experience, so hopefully that will be able to dismiss that.
