00:00Clovis has also been speaking to Eleanor Carillo. She's an MP from
00:04President Macron's Renaissance Party. Here's a little of their conversation.
00:10As you saw on Sunday, there's no bloc that is able to govern on its own and
00:15this is a very unusual situation. We've never had this. It's unprecedented in
00:18France and right now every single bloc, no matter what you hear, has to
00:23negotiate and talk to the others. So yes, there's a lot of negotiations taking
00:26place. Can you tell me what is going to happen according to you?
00:31Is it going to be a left-wing government, a center-right government, a centrist
00:35government? What do you feel? It is still very early to say. You have to move fast
00:40but at the same time right now I don't see anyone making the steps necessary to
00:45form a coalition that would be broad enough. So the other option is to form an
00:49agreement to govern, you know, with two different blocs as you have in Germany
00:52for instance or had in Spain. Right now what I know is that we've never had this
00:56and we need to learn how to make compromises. People talk about a
01:00government of technocrats in order to overcome political differences. Is that a
01:05possibility? It is indeed a possibility but I don't think it would be a good
01:08choice because right now we had two elections, two very important ones, the
01:12European elections and now after the dissolution, the legislatives. And I
01:15think people want to see their ideas in power even though you have maybe two
01:19different parties agreeing to govern together.
