Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore interview
Transcript
00:00And Hailey, before they kick me out of here, the watercolors used for Gwen's world are
00:10some of the most remarkable visuals I've ever seen.
00:12The way that the colors change in the scenes to match the emotions.
00:15When did you finally get to see a finished product of what that might look like in the
00:20scenes?
00:21It's always so funny whenever the filmmakers choose to show any version of any clip, it's
00:29always prefaced with, like, it's not colored or it's not done or just trust us.
00:35And if they didn't say anything, I would think it was just absolute perfection at every stage.
00:40But it wasn't until I saw the film in its entirety that I got to see everything that
00:46they were talking about.
00:47And it is truly, truly, truly so incredible and moving and captivating.
00:53And yeah, I'm biased, but Gwen's world is pretty beautiful.
00:58Every frame of this movie could be hung on the wall of a museum and honestly belongs there.
01:02What was that thing about the mood ring again?
01:04That was how it was first described to me by Kemp and Loretta Miller.
01:09They basically just said, to give you an idea of what Gwen's world is, it's like a mood ring.
01:16It will visually change as her circumstances change and the emotions that she feels we
01:21will feel in the audience on screen.
01:25So neat.
01:26My God, it works so well.
01:27All right, they're kicking me out.
01:28Thank you guys.
01:29I appreciate your time.
01:30Thank you.
