Red Arrows to fly over Merseyside twice at Southport Air Show

Southport Air Show returns to Merseyside this weekend with a double dose of the The Red Arrows and a host of other confirmed aircraft.

00:00Tens of thousands of aviation fans will descend on the Sefton coast this week as the world
00:06famous Red Arrows take to the skies for their 60-year diamond season. The Red Arrows have
00:11added extra dynamic manoeuvres not performed for more than a decade to their trademark
00:15routine. The world famous aerobatics jet team will also perform double the amount of displays
00:20scheduled for last year's airshow following a series of changes made by organisers. This
00:26year's show runs between 10am and 7pm on Saturday, July 13th and Sunday 14th. It will
00:31be held on Southport Seafront. During last year's staging of the airshow, the Red Arrows
00:36cancelled their main display due to unsuitable weather conditions. Aviation fans still got
00:41to see the iconic jet fly past, however, many attendees were angry about the event's organisation
00:47with heavy traffic causing them to miss much of the weekend. Additional attractions for
00:512024 include the military village, paintball, bouncy castles, food stalls and flight simulators.
