00:00Come on, come on, this god damn best feed for you, baby!
00:04Get in there!
00:06Everybody eats around here, everybody eats.
00:10What an exciting time to be a college football fan,
00:13and we are so happy to be able to bring you
00:15this gameplay first look of College Football 25.
00:20We had to bring in a little talent.
00:21On one side, if you're following Twitter,
00:24if you follow College Football at all,
00:25you know the name Bordeaux.
00:26And on the other side, you might recognize him
00:28as one of the cover athletes of College Football 25
00:31from the University of Michigan, Donovan Edwards.
00:35You know what, thanks for having me on here, man.
00:38Just looking at this system right now
00:40and just being able to look at the graphics of this,
00:44it's very spot on right here.
00:45They got the Big House theme song in here,
00:49so I'm very excited to play.
00:54Nick Mozesko here with you
00:56alongside two very important people.
00:58We've got Scott O'Gallagher.
01:00You might hear us refer to him as OG,
01:02and we've got Sykes along with us.
01:06We're about to play Michigan brand of football, gentlemen.
01:09Oh, we're about to get the ground and pound.
01:11Michigan brand of football.
01:13I'm in trouble, all right.
01:18There it is, baby.
01:19There it is, baby.
01:20Come on, Mark.
01:21Great ball.
01:22So you see, that's our brand new revamp passing right there.
01:25That's the blue.
01:26It's a safer throw that he made.
01:28There's blue, yellow, red.
01:30You know, obviously, the more that you're in the red,
01:32the more off-target a throw is going to be.
01:35Good throw there for Donovan.
01:37We worked off of like a bullseye system, right?
01:39And, you know, Bill Walsh said it best
01:41about every pass being six-inch off the numbers.
01:44So we wanted to really work off of that
01:46and get rid of the throws that might have been 20-plus yards
01:49over a head or anything random.
01:51Now, if you're hitting in the red,
01:52you're throwing it now off-target.
01:54It's still catchable, right?
01:55But, you know, drop chances increase
01:57and things of that nature.
02:00Hey, boys, this graphic stuff is real.
02:03They got us looking to the sideline.
02:05Yeah, I like that.
02:06They got us looking to the sideline and all that.
02:08Oh, that one's up the middle, too.
02:10Get off me, cuz.
02:11Get off of me, cuz.
02:12I don't care if he hit me like that.
02:14Get off of me, cuz.
02:15Oh, they got my boy Ben Hall in the game now.
02:17Ooh, my boy Ben Hall.
02:22I think third and six here for Donovan.
02:24Come on.
02:25Donovan's going to get to Donovan.
02:27OK.
02:28OK.
02:30All right, I just have to shout out for a second.
02:32The stick work that Mr. Donovan Edwards just showed on that play,
02:36that's part of what the gameplay is all about this year.
02:39That extra responsiveness,
02:40the control that you get with the ball carrier,
02:42that's a huge, huge part,
02:44huge part of the college football experience this year.
02:47Yep.
02:48Donovan, how did running the football feel?
02:50It felt like I was out there, you know what I'm saying?
02:52But for me, though, I'm able to, like, read the defense a little.
02:56I'm able to read it, like, you know what I'm saying,
02:58like how I'm playing it in a game.
03:00So the stick work was very easy to maneuver.
03:04So here as we come to the line, and Ewers is at the line,
03:07you're looking at the player reticle here, right?
03:09The right is your fatigue, stamina,
03:11and then on the left is your wear and tear.
03:13Wear and tear is basically five different pips
03:16that's just showing you the body part that is hurt the most.
03:19Sure.
03:20That's it.
03:21So it could be an ankle, it could be an elbow,
03:22and then it will fluctuate in colors.
03:24It will go straight from, you know, green, light green,
03:27yellow, orange, and red.
03:29The more that these are down, the more attribute hits that.
03:32Is there a rating that affects how much the wear and tear
03:35is going to affect your player?
03:36Absolutely.
03:37It is the toughness rating, right?
03:38So the toughness is playing into the impact of the hit.
03:41We're looking at recovery.
03:43That's a great, that's a great.
03:44Oh, got to make a tackle there.
03:46One of the new things that we've added to college
03:48is the pitch types.
03:50So now you basically have three different pitches you can do.
03:54You've got your quick pitches, strong pitches, and fake pitches.
03:58Quick pitches are basically going to be to get you out of a tight spot.
04:02The animation is going to be quick, but the ball might hang.
04:05It might not hit the pitch back perfectly in stride,
04:07but then on your strong pitches,
04:09which you're going to get by holding the pitch button,
04:11the animation might take a little bit longer,
04:13but it's going to hit the guy in stride.
04:14The ball speed is going to be quicker.
04:16Of course, fake pitching, that's just to rub it into your opponent's face.
04:19It's just going to be rude when you do that.
04:20Exactly.
04:21That's just going to be to taunt, basically.
04:23But, yeah, that's how we've tried to approach the option space.
04:27Hell no.
04:29Nope, sir, I'm on it.
04:31Oh, I see you.
04:42Wardell, was that a cover chill?
04:44Yeah.
04:45I had three out there, and I switched it to cover two.
04:47Okay.
04:48And that is a major change.
04:49Adding in these covered shells,
04:50taking the old version of what is baseline,
04:54and now instead giving you the ability to show different defenses
04:57and then disguise exactly what you're doing.
05:01Get it out there.
05:02Touchdown.
05:07Something that players used for a long time was baseline,
05:10and it was with that intent to disguise your look on defense,
05:13but now you're getting more control in that you can show,
05:16depending on the formation that you call,
05:18you can show up to five or six different alignments
05:21in pre-play on defense.
05:23So instead of having baseline,
05:24now you have even more control than you did before
05:28by being able to say, for example,
05:30okay, I'm going to call cover three,
05:31but I'm going to show a cover zero blitz look
05:34to make you think I'm blitzing,
05:35but really it's just like a drop coverage.
05:37And this is something like core fans have just –
05:40they've wanted this for years,
05:41so I'm so glad we were able to deliver it.
05:44Get away from me, guys.
05:45What's wrong with you?
05:47Can Donovan get to the house?
05:49Can Donovan get out of here?
05:51A Donovan connection.
05:59Donovan doesn't know about all the different new celebrations
06:02that are in the game.
06:03There's over 20 new touchdown celebrations that you can choose.
06:06So we're not looking at just four for each direction.
06:09Yeah, you can hit the Heisman pose.
06:11You can do the salute.
06:12There's a lot there.
06:13You can rock the baby.
06:15Everything is in there.
06:19Throw that.
06:20That's a dot.
06:21Boom.
06:22That was an absolute dot, right?
06:23And so that's when we were talking about revamp passing.
06:27Left stick intent was there to be able to throw somebody open,
06:30layer the football.
06:32A lot have heard about us talk about that,
06:33whether it's the blog or the video deep dive,
06:35but that was priority A number one.
06:37That was a great example of that right there.
06:43Oh, that's a shot.
06:44He's going to feel that.
06:45He's going to feel that.
06:47Bordeaux, how's that spin move feeling?
06:49I'm loving the spin move.
06:50The spin is back.
06:51It's back in play.
06:53The spin is back for sure.
06:58There goes Donovan.
07:00There goes Donovan.
07:07He's putting on a running clip.
07:08Bordeaux, you've got to stop something.
07:10I'm not sure what you can do to stop him, to be honest.
07:16We're going to stack the box,
07:18but then that opens up the passing game.
07:20It's a little risky.
07:23He stacked the box.
07:24Did we get the animation?
07:27Bordeaux comes out and says,
07:28I'm going to stack the box.
07:29And what does Donovan do?
07:30Play action hits the crosser.
07:32Oh.
07:33Got a man.
07:34Donovan cuts inside.
07:35Got a man.
07:36Celebrate on him.
07:38Only so much I can do here.
07:40Oh, no.
07:41He's going for it all.
07:42He's going for it all.
07:43Is he going to get a DPI?
07:45Is that DPI?
07:46It's only 15 now.
07:47We'll see.
07:48Pass interference.
07:49Yep.
07:50Yeah.
07:51Penalty, Hunter.
07:52Like Luca in the playoffs.
07:53Hey, I like that.
07:54That's realistic, though.
07:55I like that.
07:56That's realistic.
07:57It happens.
07:58I'm getting it.
07:59I'm getting it.
08:00It happens.
08:01I'm getting nostalgic hitbacks with the run back to the line.
08:03Like, that hits that nostalgia taste bud.
08:06Yeah.
08:07And especially when you talk about tempo and, you know,
08:10it just really brings a whole other life to it.
08:12The atmosphere, the play, the sense of urgency.
08:15Everything comes in.
08:16Yeah.
08:17This is the turbo hurry up mode.
08:18So I should get to hike it even quicker.
08:19So you're using the turbo right now.
08:21I am using the turbo.
08:23And so you can see on the D line right there,
08:25because Bordeaux was using turbo tempo
08:27and he snapped the ball quickly,
08:28the defense was just a hair late getting off the ball.
08:32He's moving it, though.
08:33I ain't going to lie.
08:35And so that play, you could see field general
08:37activated to where Bordeaux could see
08:39that the outside corners were commenting on the play.
08:42But that is not a guarantee,
08:44and it's only because his quarterback
08:46has maintained his composure
08:48and hasn't fallen behind the chain.
08:51Hand it up the middle.
08:52Okay, okay.
08:53I'll take it.
08:55I still got to come back, though.
08:56I'm taking myself off the game.
08:59You're taking yourself out of the game?
09:01I'm done for the day.
09:02You did your job.
09:05There's five seconds left and the clock's running.
09:07And we're looking at the spreadsheet here.
09:09You see the little minuses here?
09:10These are the attribute hits that Donovan
09:13has taken from wear and tear throughout the game.
09:16Donovan, who are we talking to right now?
09:17It's Tony Alford right here.
09:18It's my running back coach.
09:21Just letting you know, you know what I'm saying,
09:22that the guy's bringing it up, you know what I'm saying.
09:24Look, look, look.
09:25I don't want to brag or nothing.
09:27Hold on, T.A.
09:28There your boy go right there.
09:29You know what I mean?
09:32That looks like a little bit of the inaccurate pass
09:34because it wasn't five yards over the head of the receiver.
09:38What it was is it was just sort of down and away
09:40and you've got to click on and make a play
09:41to make that catch.
09:42Exactly.
09:43It was what we like to call internally off-frame, right?
09:46So off-frame down there.
09:47Harder to catch.
09:48Still catchable.
09:50Higher chance for a drop.
09:52Oh.
09:55Is this the...
09:56This is the one.
09:57I like the breakaway speed, though.
09:59The breakaway speed is wide.
10:01There was a big emphasis, too,
10:02on the different archetypes and the run cycles
10:04that we captured this year.
10:05So it really makes the game look fresh.
10:08And that's one of the new ones right there.
10:10You're seeing spin moves, juke moves, and stiff arms
10:13all being used.
10:14And situationally, they're all really, really good.
10:17Right, all of it.
10:18And then you combine that with the left stick.
10:19Look at...
10:20Did you see that?
10:21That throw was insane.
10:22That is it.
10:23That's the left stick stuff
10:24that you can throw in right there.
10:25Left stick intent, right?
10:26So he's full stick, about 45 left.
10:29It goes in there and drops it to the sideline.
10:31So literally, you're looking at this play
10:32and you see the gap and you're like,
10:33okay, I want to throw this ball to the sideline.
10:35I'm going to be able, with the left stick,
10:36to actually make that throw.
10:37Absolutely.
10:39Well, our game one featured
10:41a whole lot of Donovan Edwards
10:42giving the ball to Donovan Edwards.
10:44And he's able to take down the win,
10:45but we had to switch it up,
10:47send him on the road
10:48into one of the toughest places to play.
10:49Happy Valley.
10:50And by the way,
10:51we had to give Bordeaux a chance.
10:52It wouldn't be a college ball game
10:53if we don't give him a chance at a get back.
10:55Okay.
10:56We're going to see more from Bordeaux.
11:02The attention to detail
11:03from our presentation team was second to none.
11:05You could see it.
11:06This Penn State run out is unbelievable.
11:09The lighting in the tunnel
11:11to the pom-poms and the crowd.
11:14Donovan, is this pretty accurate?
11:16Very accurate.
11:17Very accurate.
11:19Very accurate.
11:23And it got to the We Are Penn State.
11:25You can hear the We Are Penn State chant.
11:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:27That's very accurate.
11:28This is awesome.
11:29With their fight song.
11:30My goodness.
11:31I've got to turn the light off on mine.
11:33I want to hear this.
11:38The Manette hit with wear and tear.
11:40You are going to feel that.
11:41You've got to watch out for Mason Graham.
11:43He's got that platinum pocket disruptor,
11:45so he's really going to wreak havoc on the O-line
11:47if you don't have the guys that can match up with him.
11:49He's pulling up those hot routes.
11:50And you saw with the L1, the custom stem.
11:52What are people going to be able to do
11:53with those custom stems when they're doing their hot routes?
11:55Before Sykes alludes to the...
11:57We've got to pick.
11:58So he's probably going to use the custom stem there.
12:00Because we're going to get six.
12:02Bordeaux, what are we doing, man?
12:05I need one.
12:06I know.
12:07It's a tough start.
12:12Go, Nick.
12:13Go, Nick.
12:14Get out of there, Nick.
12:15Oh, what a run.
12:16This is called giving Donovan a taste of his own medicine.
12:20Hey, I like the lion noise on the first down, boys.
12:23You heard that, too?
12:24Yeah, they do that every time.
12:28All right, what do we got here?
12:29Oh.
12:31Get out there.
12:32You like that Texas roar, bro.
12:33Get out there.
12:34Get on the board.
12:35You like that Texas roar.
12:36Get on the board.
12:37What do we got coming?
12:38A little Heisman pose?
12:40Ha, ha, ha.
12:43Hey, I got Road Dog, don't I?
12:45Yeah, you got Road Dog on you.
12:47Donovan Edwards in-game has Road Dog.
12:49Yes, he does.
12:50We know his stats on the road.
12:52He absolutely deserves it.
12:53We hand-assigned abilities to the top 100 players in college football
12:58to make sure they're represented how they play in real life.
13:02And for those at home, as they're seeing home-field advantage
13:04and the different impacts and effects that are happening,
13:07the meter is growing, and depending on where you're playing,
13:10we've broken down the top 25 toughest places to play.
13:14The different impacts are happening.
13:17So that could be anything from the squiggly routes to not seeing icons
13:21to every time you bring up play art, it's showing the wrong play.
13:25Your back is literally against the wall.
13:28Oh, touchdown.
13:29Touchdown, boys.
13:30Come here.
13:31Oh, come on.
13:32Got it.
13:33Burnt.
13:34Oh, what a pass there.
13:35What are we doing?
13:37Listen, Donovan Edwards is a running back.
13:38I think he could play quarterback the way he's throwing the ball out here.
13:47What's crazy is you're listening to it, you can hear the crowd
13:49noise level drop a little bit.
13:51Those momentum plays really affect the atmosphere that you're playing in.
13:55You can make those plays on the road, you're going to get a bigger advantage.
13:59Oski.
14:00Let's go, man.
14:03That O-line does not catch him.
14:04That's Cody.
14:05That's Cody for you, too.
14:06That's Cody Jones.
14:08Burnt.
14:09Wow.
14:10If Bordeaux were to bring up coach vision right here with left trigger,
14:14he'd be able to view the composure of his players in pre-play,
14:17and you can see the composure of the team.
14:19It's not great right now.
14:24Get it.
14:25Let's go.
14:27Get it.
14:28Let's go.
14:29Oh, my goodness.
14:30Oh, my goodness.
14:31Oh, my goodness.
14:32Oh, my goodness.
14:33That's going to the crib.
14:34That's that 8-5 overall for you, brother.
14:36That's that 8-5 overall.
14:39That's a first-row jazz pick right there, boy.
14:44We made sure that the archetypes are so important that the abilities live
14:48within the archetype system, right?
14:50Only particular archetypes can get particular abilities,
14:54which is paramount to make sure that we're not really muddying the water.
15:01No way.
15:02All right.
15:03All right.
15:04Bordeaux, smart play there,
15:06running away from that side of the field,
15:09running away from Mason Graham to the other gap,
15:11able to get a score there.
15:16See, there's another one, right?
15:18Hit the red.
15:19It's kind of behind him.
15:20Turn all the way back around.
15:21So you don't get that animation where he's moving upfield.
15:24He's going to slow down, but it's still catchable.
15:26Exactly, but those are going to really hurt you in tight windows.
15:29Only had three carries.
15:30He'd be the most well-rested running back in the country.
15:32Oh, I think he likes this seven route right here.
15:34Nope, he's going to throw the flat to himself.
15:36Yeah, and he's open.
15:37And look at the breakaway speed.
15:40And a great showcase of two of the abilities that Donovan has in
15:44College Football 25.
15:46You can see it with takeoff right there when that play started.
15:49He got just that extra, extra quick step off of the route.
15:54Bro, the graphics are, like, so nice on this game.
15:57Graphics team did an awesome job.
15:59Look at the lighting.
16:04There it is.
16:05Uh-oh, red pad.
16:06I'm reading it, bro.
16:07I'm reading it.
16:10So that was a red pad.
16:11It was just slightly behind, but because the defender was in good
16:14coverage, that was able to be picked.
16:17New kicking, debuting in college.
16:19It's just something that we have not seen before as far as even a
16:2340-yard field goal isn't a gimme.
16:25You're really going to need to focus and make sure that you're timing up
16:28the accuracy meter, not over-kicking it if you want to have success.
16:31I've heard rumors that this pump fake can actually,
16:34you're actually going to see defenders move if you use the pump fake.
16:37Absolutely, yeah.
16:38Now you can pull down a corner to throw behind him, right,
16:41in that 4-7 look.
16:43There's a lot of different things.
16:44We really wanted to start making it play instead of it just being more
16:47or less of an animation.
16:50I mean, I like the matchup, but, like, do I fake it?
16:56Oh.
16:58Crit, crit, crit.
17:01Oh!
17:03That's an example.
17:04It's a big play.
17:05He's rolling out.
17:06He puts a little touch on the ball.
17:07And then now that, again, the ratings differential,
17:10being able to put the ball in places you haven't been able to
17:13before, that really just speaks to the wide-open gameplay.
17:16Get it to him!
17:17That's the big play!
17:18Get it to him!
17:19What a play.
17:22I don't ever want to play Michigan.
17:24That's the big play.
17:25Do your dance, gang.
17:26Do your dance.
17:27I really don't want to sway out here for a second.
17:29Come on, bro.
17:30Everybody eats around here.
17:32Everybody eats.
17:36Watch the arrows.
17:37I'm on everything.
17:38It looks like he had a round, and he makes the catch.
17:42As you see here with Bordeaux, he's going into wear and tear.
17:45Now you can see left arm.
17:47So he's losing a little bit of stats in that category.
17:50So the individual body parts are going to pick up the wear and tear.
17:54It's not just generic fatigue or your whole body.
17:57It's going to be based on how they're hit, where they're hit.
17:59And that's going to change your ratings that are being affected.
18:02Absolutely.
18:03So every body part has unique attributes tied to it, right?
18:07So a big hit to the arm is going to impact throw power,
18:10throw accuracy, medium throw, short, long, all of that,
18:13just as it would in real life.
18:15And we're on the road, too.
18:16We're hearing the fight song play on the road.
18:18Just subtle, not as loud as it would be at home,
18:20which is a nice little touch.
18:21Weather has got to be a big part of this,
18:23especially being in the Big Ten.
18:24This game's in November, and it's snowy.
18:26That's going to have an effect on how the players play.
18:28Without question.
18:30Throwing a wet football is a fundamental component of football.
18:34And so we had to make sure that that was properly replicated.
18:38Oh, was that a was that a motion halfback wheel?
18:41They did that in the bowl game.
18:44It's nasty.
18:45They did that.
18:46Exactly.
18:47Exactly.
18:48And they got it in the game.
18:50All right.
18:51So now you see right now we got wear and tear here in yellow.
18:54So now the impacts are starting to grow.
18:56You could tell the way the ball was floating right there on that
18:59pass to wear and tear.
19:00It wasn't a crisp throw like.
19:02So if I need to get rid of that wear and tear,
19:04what can I do in game?
19:06Is it subbing someone out?
19:07Is it using timeouts?
19:08What do I do?
19:09So they heal in multiple different stages.
19:12They heal per play per quarter.
19:14Halftime is probably your biggest one.
19:16And if you're in dynasty or road to glory week to week,
19:20it's going to be tough.
19:21Once your quarterback starts getting banged up like this,
19:23you're definitely going to notice it with the trajectories,
19:25the throw power, everybody just sending it.
19:28Now it's picked.
19:30Oh, I haven't seen that yet.
19:33Oh, man.
19:34Holy cow.
19:35I don't know.
19:36Sykes.
19:37I have not.
19:38I couldn't tell you the last time I've seen that.
19:39No.
19:40I want to see that catch.
19:41Whoa.
19:44Man, with 32 seconds left.
19:46Oh, you didn't have to do it.
19:49Why are you dancing?
19:50You're down 40.
19:53Why are you dancing?
19:57Bordeaux, you know, first time getting to play this.
20:01Give me just a quick, you know,
20:03quick thoughts from getting your hands on this game and how much fun it's going
20:06to be.
20:07The first college football game in 10 years.
20:09Look at you.
20:10Definitely.
20:11It's going to be so much fun.
20:12I had a blast doing this.
20:13Donovan, obviously two games.
20:15You got yourself two player of the game awards,
20:17put up a whole lot of points.
20:18Just thoughts on playing the game,
20:20how much fun it is and how much it means you to be the cover athlete of
20:23this game.
20:24Playing a game.
20:25This is, this is amazing.
20:27It was very fun.
20:28It feels very realistic.
20:31Being able to be on the cover of the game as well as the blessing and to be
20:35able to put up points into, you know,
20:37rush over for a hundred yards per game.
20:39Crazy.
20:40You know, it's great,
20:41especially being my first time playing this game.
20:43So, you know,
20:44he has to get a little bit better before he plays me again.
20:47So, you know,
20:48it was a great experience playing this wonderful game that has been brought
20:52back after a decade.
20:53Make game day every day.
