Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said the economy is in a bad state as he reaffirms his commitment for change. Sir Keir said he'd already made "real progress" in a matter of days after becoming PM, with announcements from the Chancellor and Home Secretary.

00:00The economy is in a bad state. I think the whole country knows that. That's why there was such a strong mandate for the incoming Labour government for change.
00:09What we now have to do is to get on and deliver that change. I've had discussions in the devolved governments about the change we can bring about, the economic imperative behind that.
00:21The Chancellor already taking decisions in relation to onshore wind, in relation to planning, showing the absolute need to get on and deliver the change.
00:33And the Home Secretary of course playing her part. So in only a few days we've made real progress. There's further to go.
00:40We will be judged by our actions, not by our words. But I'm very pleased to have got off to a start which shows that I think that we were serious about what we said about change and now we're into the early stages of delivering that.
