"Wafaq Balochistan Se Mil Kar Soobay Ke Tube wells ko solar par muntaqil karega," PM Shehbaz
Transcript
00:00that the 27,000 tuples in Balochistan should get electricity all day.
00:08They don't get it for 3 hours, 5 hours or 6 hours.
00:12Because the electricity bills are not paid.
00:16And the entire burden is being carried by Wafaaq for many years.
00:20Which I told you is about 500 billion rupees.
00:24This 500 billion rupees subsidy which is being wasted
00:28is going down the drain.
00:31If this 500 billion was spent on development in Balochistan
00:36then where would Balochistan's progress and destiny have reached?
00:39How far would the journey of happiness have gone?
00:42But this 500 billion was given by Wafaaq but it was wasted 100%.
00:47Because the bills are not paid and this money was given by Wafaaq
00:51which is going down the drain.
00:53Today, Alhamdulillah, this government, my leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
01:00He is my president, my leader, my brother and my father.
01:09He is the head of the government.
01:11And in our coalition government,
01:14Mr. Bilawal Bhutto and Mr. Asif Zardari have made a big contribution.
01:19They are a part of this coalition.
01:22They are our friends from the BAP party and MQM.
01:26So we have decided that this BAP should end.
01:32That every year Wafaaq should pay 80, 70, 90 billion rupees.
01:37We have made a system for that.
01:40These 27,000 tubels which run on electricity
01:44after ending the electricity connection,
01:47they will be given a solar connection.
01:51And we have decided on the solar model.
01:57We will sign the agreement, Inshallah.
02:00So if they run on solar, the farmer will run the tubel on solar.
02:05He will irrigate his land.
02:09And that electricity is very cheap.
02:12The electricity that runs on solar today is the cheapest in the world.
02:17It is even cheaper than solar panels.
02:20No other system in the world can provide such cheap electricity.
02:26So it has been decided to run on solar.
02:30These 28,000 tubels, feeders,
02:35their connection will be cut off
02:38and these solar panels will be provided to those farmers.
02:41And in this way, electricity will also be cheap.
02:45The burden that Wafaaq has been carrying for many years,
02:4980, 90 billion rupees a year, will end gradually.
02:53Because Nawab Sahib has made a commitment to me
02:57that in three months, all these 28,000 tubels will be connected to solar.
03:04Nawab Sahib fulfilled this commitment in three months.
03:07So Inshallah, we will give them a proper recognition.
03:13Because this is not a small commitment.
03:16It is a big challenge that you will connect 28,000 tubels in three months.
03:22I have put all the responsibility of this on the cabinet, on Nawab Sahib.
03:28I am absolutely sure that he will do it in the most transparent way.
03:32And I have not come here to give a lecture.
03:36But I have a very sincere suggestion.
03:40I have already told Nawab Sahib that go for large procurement.
03:47For example, let's say 28,000 solar panels or 28,000 tubels,
03:55you can hire 2-4 companies,
03:59you can take 2-4,000-5,000 from them.
04:03The bigger the volume, the lower the price.
04:06If you give it to an individual farmer,
04:09that you take 20 lakh rupees and install solar panels,
04:15then the price will be 3,000-4,000 rupees.
04:20There is a world of difference.
04:22But this is the decision of Nawab Sahib and your decision.
04:25I will not interfere in this.
04:27I leave it to your judgement as to how you want to do it.
04:31You are a very good administrator.
04:34Since you became the minister, I have been very happy.
04:38I appreciate your ideas.
04:42If this is done in three months,
04:47then 28,000 will get cheaper electricity than their expensive electricity.
04:57And the electricity bills that were not paid,
05:00which are being stolen, will be abolished.
05:02This is the reform agenda that the coalition government
05:07and my leader, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif,
05:11have come up with.
05:14This is our common goal.
05:17The government of the province and the government of Wafaa.
05:21This is our common goal.
05:23And I cannot live without saying that in this plan,
05:28where the honourable minister of Wafaa, Sardar Awais Laghari Sahib,
05:34is fully involved.
05:36The secretary of our power, Chaudhry Rashid Nangriyal, is also involved.
05:42Our minister of finance, Aurangzeb Sahib, is not here.
05:46The minister of state is present here.
05:49The secretary of finance is also involved.
05:52The minister of law, Azam Zidhar Sahib, is also involved.
05:59Jam Sahib is also involved.
06:04I cannot live without saying this.
06:10The follow-up that I have seen in this plan,
06:14I assure you that I am very happy.
06:18Therefore, I would like to give a round of applause.
06:23Today, we have decided that in this project,
06:2970% of the funds are provided by Wafaa.
06:37And 30% is provided by the government of Balochistan.
06:43Inshallah, this plan will be completed in three months.
06:49This is the reform agenda,
06:51which is the biggest pillar of this government.
06:56And for this, we are all going together everywhere,
07:01we are all working together.
07:04Inshallah, if we work together,
07:06it will be good for the nation.
07:08And Pakistan will definitely achieve its goal.
