00:00Sound the alarms, Kev, because we have some NBA news.
00:03The Kings have agreed to a sign-and-trade that will see Sacramento acquire DeMar DeRozan
00:08from the Bulls in a three-team deal.
00:10DeRozan's going to get a three-year, $74 million deal.
00:13Keep in mind, he averaged 24 points per game last season for the Bulls, and he's one of
00:17five players to average 20 points per game in each of his last 11 seasons.
00:21So it goes to DeRozan, LeBron, Steph, AD, and Damian Lillard.
00:24The Kings are acquiring DeRozan, but the deal also means moving Harrison Barnes to the Spurs.
00:29And Sacramento is then trading Chris Duarte.
00:32Two second-round picks and cash to the Bulls is part of this deal as well.
00:36And DeRozan now gets to partner with De'Aaron Fox and DeMontis Sabonis in Sacramento.
00:42And then on cue, because it is Summer League, look at who is there.
00:47The newest King arriving at Summer League in Sacramento.
00:51Hi, how are you?
00:53Nice to meet you.
00:54I am the new guy.
00:56Woj is not new to any of this.
00:58He's joining us now.
00:59Look, how did this finally get to the finish line?
01:01How did we get this done?
01:02Well, I think the Kings were the one team with real interest beyond their mid-level
01:06exception in DeMar DeRozan.
01:09So they were pretty persistent in the last week of trying to get Chicago engaged in this
01:13sign-and-trade.
01:14Listen, when you trade for DeMar DeRozan, especially as he's about to turn 35, you are
01:20trading for offense.
01:21He can still score the ball.
01:23You have certainly seen his defensive tier rate as he's gotten older, but this is still
01:27a 24-25 point-a-game score.
01:30The Kings look at the West.
01:31They see other teams improving, and they moved Harrison Barnes out, who played a significant
01:37role in getting this team back into the postseason, but they still believe DeRozan has some good
01:43basketball left in him.
01:46And now he'll take center stage with De'Aaron Fox, Sabonis, and this is a team in Sacramento
01:52that wants to get out of the play-in and back into the playoffs.
01:56They're banking on three years, $74 million worth of offense.
01:58That's Woach.
