00:00Dancers descended on Sheffield's city centre in force for the city's annual Chance to Dance event.
00:07Dancing schools from all over the city took part, with shows at Barker's Pool, the Poost Gardens and the Winter Garden.
00:14Hundreds of dancers were involved.
00:16My name's Katie Robinson and our school is called On Broadway Dance Fitness.
00:20And what do you like about the Chance to Dance event here in Sheffield?
00:24They're just amazing. It's such a good day out, lots of different groups getting together, a really nice community feel.
00:30It's a really good way for the community to experience all the different dance groups that are available in Sheffield.
00:36And hopefully the sun shines and it's a great day.
00:38It's also a lovely time for our ladies who normally dance like nobody's watching to experience dancing like everybody's watching.
00:54What I love about Chance to Dance is that it brings everyone together.
01:02So it doesn't matter what background you're from, what cultural background or what gender, it doesn't matter because dance in itself is a community.
01:25I'm Julia. I'm Nat. And we're from Shimmy School.
01:32And what do you enjoy about Chance to Dance here in the city centre?
01:36The variety of dance and things that's available and just being able to walk anywhere around the city and stumbling across different things or checking out the timetables and working it out.
01:46But I like to just show up and see what I find on the way.
01:50I really like the diversity of all the different types of dancers and the fact that you have everyone from small children right up to people just doing their thing and really enjoying it.
