00:00Hey guys, welcome back to DriveSpark, I'm Vedant Johari and today, we've got our hands
00:11on something super special, the Ultraviolet F77 Mk2.
00:21Now we all know the Mk1 was a beautifully engineered machine and it really stood out
00:26in the electric motorcycle market, but now Ultraviolet has pushed their boundaries, pushed
00:31their limits and come out with this, once again, beautiful piece of machinery.
00:39So let's see what the F77 Mk2 has to offer you guys.
00:56Now talking about the design of the motorcycle, the first thing we notice is that nowhere
01:06on the exterior do we see any fasteners, any bolts, any nuts, screws or anything.
01:12It's completely clean and this whole aesthetic is followed right from the front till the
01:17rear of the motorcycle, not missing even a single point anywhere.
01:21Now the colour that we have is this white, black and this red scheme and in my opinion,
01:26it is the most attractive colour option of the Mk2.
01:30Now the chassis that we get on the F77 has gone through extensive R&D and gone through
01:34extensive planning and this is now the seventh generation chassis that Ultraviolet is using
01:39on this motorcycle.
01:41Now on top of that, they've also come up with a perfect 50-50 weight distribution in the
01:47front and the rear of the motorcycle, however, while riding, you do feel that the front is
01:52a little heavier.
01:54More on the riding impressions when I'm actually on the motorcycle.
02:09So now talking about the ground clearance, we took the F77 off-roading, we took it through
02:14some really slippery areas and not once did the underbelly scrape.
02:18So what's the ground clearance of this, you may be wondering.
02:20It comes in at 160mm and the seat height of this is at 700mm.
02:33So it's really, really perfect for city conditions.
02:45Ultraviolet has been on a roll, the Mk1 collected the most awards of any two-wheeler in 2024
02:57and the riders have already put over 2 million kilometres on these motorcycles.
03:01Also the F77 has achieved a crazy 7000 kilometres in just 20 days, going through temperatures
03:10ranging from minus 15 degrees to plus 47 degrees.
03:16Now this chassis is also really strong and really durable and it can hold 7 times the
03:21actual weight of this motorcycle and that equals up to 15,000 kgs of payload on the F77 Mk2.
03:30Now that is something really, really impressive for an electric motorcycle
03:34or for a motorcycle in general.
03:36So the design of the motorcycle, as I said, features no knots or bolts and that is the
03:41first time in the world that a motorcycle has come out with a design as such.
03:45Now another first in the world for Ultraviolet is the 10 levels of regen that this motorcycle gets.
03:50Yes, 10 levels of regen, all the way from 0 to 9, with 0 being absolutely no resistance on the rear wheel
03:58and 9 basically meaning that your rear wheel will brake for you without you having to press the brakes.
04:04Now for the regen, the regen also helps you save your brake pads and extends your brake pad life
04:10as it does all the braking for you.
04:12It basically takes all the heat generated and it sends it back to stop the motorcycle from moving.
04:18On top of that, the Ultraviolet comes with another first in the world,
04:20something called the Dynamics Stability Control.
04:23Now this is a patented feature by Ultraviolet and it basically monitors your ABS levels,
04:30your traction control levels and your tilt so that you don't lose too much control of the motorcycle.
04:36It keeps you under control and it keeps you stable no matter what.
04:39Now on top of that, we also get three levels of traction control on this.
04:43The first one being the most intrusive where it really doesn't allow any slippage of the wheel,
04:50level 2 being for your regular city riding and level 3 being for the track or your sporty riding.
04:55We also get an option to completely switch off traction control
04:58as for some of us that might just be the better option.
05:06Ultraviolet's Recon variant offers a range of 323 kilometres as per the IDC
05:12and this lets the F77 go for long rides with ease.
05:16Now this 323 kilometre range is a whole 16 kilometre improvement over the Mark 1.
05:21It's also the only production electric two-wheeler to come with dual channel ABS
05:25and that too, the rear ABS is also switchable.
05:31So now some of the extra technology we get on the F77 is we get something called Violet AI.
05:37Now that is Ultraviolet's own AI module which basically collects 4000 data points
05:42every single second from each of the sensors on the motorcycle
05:46and that suggests you your riding style, your riding mode,
05:49region levels, your traction control settings,
05:52it basically provides you the ideal riding condition for your riding style.
05:56So in terms of safety, you guys might be wondering what Ultraviolet has to offer you.
06:01Well it comes with this system called the Delta Watch and it basically alerts the owner
06:07if someone's trying to steal the vehicle or move it around or tow it.
06:10Now I'll show you how that works.
06:12So now the motorcycle's off, I'm standing away from it and if I just shake it,
06:17I can hear the alarm going off.
06:19So that was basically the Delta Watch in action.
06:24Not only will we hear it on the motorcycle,
06:26it will also send an alert to the owners on the Ultraviolet app.
06:35The Delta Watch system gives us alerts such as movement,
06:39fall and tow for when we're away from the motorcycle.
06:42It sends an alert to our phone and also an alarm rings from the motorcycle.
06:47The anti-collision warning system uses flashing brake lights when
06:55we're hard on brakes or when we're on level 9 regen.
06:58The battery pack that we get boasts a five level safety system
07:02and comes with a UV battery warranty program that covers up to 8 lakh kilometers
07:06a trip from here to the moon and back.
07:29So now on board the F77 MK2, it's an absolute dream to ride.
07:34As you can see, you can hit corners with ease, with absolute confidence.
07:39The suspension setup is wonderful and riding it on ballistic mode,
07:43that is something else altogether.
07:46You can tuck in in the motorcycle and push it to its limits.
07:50Braking hard on it gives you confidence.
07:52You don't feel uneasy even though it doesn't have gears
07:56and man, when you get onto roads like these that we're on right now,
08:00the F77 is truly in its element.
08:04As you can see, the bike is bouncing around quite a lot.
08:07However, when you're on it, you really don't feel anything.
08:11It's absolutely stable, very strong and even while coming to a stop
08:15like we are right now under hard braking, this bike does not fail to disappoint.
08:20Now, it's just not enough.
08:22No matter how much you ride on ballistic mode, you just want to keep pushing it,
08:26keep going and when you come to a stop, it's like I'm back in reality
08:30and when you're on this bike, you do not want to be in reality.
08:34So now, let's actually use the F77 for what we call it,
08:38for putting it through the test, through all the ride modes
08:41and see how it actually performs.
08:42So now, we head and glide.
08:45Glide is the lowest power output we get on the F77
08:50and it's very comfortable to ride.
08:52It's perfect for the city.
08:53It's very easy.
08:55You're still doing decent speeds like around 65-70 kilometers per hour
09:00and however, the power is just not delivered asap.
09:05It takes some time.
09:06It's very gradual and it's really easy to use.
09:10When we're on glide mode, the throttle response changes.
09:14It's a lot more easier.
09:15It's not as direct.
09:16You need to give extra throttle to get a little extra power out.
09:20However, in the other modes such as ballistic,
09:23the moment you're on throttle, there's instant response.
09:26So now, when we switch into combat,
09:28the power output is a lot more visible.
09:31It's a lot more evident and honestly, fun for the city.
09:36I wouldn't say it's the best for the city
09:38but it's definitely a fun ride in the city.
09:40You can really, really enjoy yourself on combat mode.
09:43Now, even with this, the throttle response has changed.
09:46It's a little more direct.
09:49Not as direct as ballistic but not as easy as glide is.
09:53And it's just overall a very, very easy mode to ride on.
10:00You don't need to be constantly focusing
10:03because of the amount of power that it's delivering.
10:06However, you aren't bored while riding the bike.
10:08It is giving you enough power to actually enjoy.
10:12And so now, let's talk about the suspension setup.
10:15The suspension setup through all riding modes stays the same.
10:18There's nothing fancy done to the suspension.
10:21The front suspension is really stiff.
10:24It's, I wouldn't say really stiff
10:26but it is stiff for a sporty motorcycle.
10:30That's what we need.
10:31And when you go hard on the front brakes,
10:33you do feel the front drop down.
10:35And that is what's required on these bikes to actually stop us.
10:40The rear suspension, on the other hand, is a little softer
10:44but it's not too soft that makes it difficult to ride
10:48or difficult to tackle corners
10:50like how we are now.
10:51All in all, the suspension setup on this is pretty good.
10:56So now after the ride I just had,
10:58let me quickly tell you about the seating position on the Mach 2.
11:01So as you can see, I'm 6'1",
11:04I can keep my legs completely flat on the motorcycle.
11:06You do feel a little bit of weight initially
11:09but as you keep riding, you get used to it.
11:11Now in terms of the rider's triangle,
11:12Alta Violet said that they worked on it
11:14to make it a little more easy for the riders
11:17as the first generation F77 was really aggressive.
11:20So this one, as you can see,
11:22I still am in a slightly committed position.
11:25However, I'm not completely tucked in.
11:28How am I fully leaned in front like this?
11:31I'm still sitting relatively comfortable
11:33and it really feels like I'm on a sports bike
11:36but for the city.
11:38So that was how this bike feels when I'm sitting on it.
11:47The Alta Violet F77 Mach 2's charging port
11:50is made from a strong aluminium to last longer.
11:53Also, this charging port resembles that
11:56of a petrol tank in an ICE vehicle.
11:59The custom panniers that we can opt for
12:01hold the entire fast charger offered with the F77.
12:04We also get a whole lot of technologically advanced features
12:07such as Hill Hold Assist,
12:08Helter Watch, Violet AI and a whole lot of others.
12:17So now talking about the battery on the F77.
12:21Well, it comes in two battery options.
12:23One, a 7.1 kWh for the F77, the base variant
12:28and a 10.3 kWh charger for the F77 Recon
12:32and that's the top-end variant of the Alta Violet Mach 2 series.
12:35Let's get gas!
12:45Now in terms of charging,
12:46well, this is one of the charging stations we get for the Alta Violet.
12:50It's known as a UV Supernova
12:52and this has a 6 and a 12 kWh charger.
12:55So right now, I'm plugging in the charger into a motorcycle
12:59and this allows the Alta Violet to charge
13:02from 20% to 80% in less than 60 minutes.
13:06That's less than one hour for you.
13:08Alta Violet claims around 40 minutes for a 20% to 80% charge on this.
13:13Now once you're done, it's really simple,
13:15you just need to pull it out,
13:18take it back through the charging station,
13:21push it in
13:23and now we're done.
13:24All in all, this was the Alta Violet F77 Mach 2.
13:28It comes in a huge variety of colour options
13:30and I'm pretty sure whichever one you'd like, Alta Violet has it for you.
13:34Now for the price,
13:35the base variant starts at Rs 2.99 lakhs
13:39and the top-end variant, the Alta Violet F77 Recon
13:42comes at a price of Rs 3.99 lakhs ex-showroom.
13:46So let us know what you think of this motorcycle down below
