00:00I am Dr. Roma Salvador. I am a medical examiner and a pathologist.
00:07How long have you been in your field of expertise?
00:12I've been in this profession for more than 10 years.
00:17Dr. Salvador, you conducted the autopsy of Ricardo Veloso's body, correct?
00:25Yes.
00:26Can you share with the court the results of your findings?
00:33The cause of death is a fatal head injury due to skull fracture with epidural hemorrhage.
00:41I will show you an original autopsy report that contains the findings. Is this what you are referring to?
00:57Yes.
00:58Can you explain?
01:07Yes.
01:13Your Honor, the witness just identified the victim's original autopsy report.
01:20May we request to have it marked as our Exhibit E?
01:28Original documents, Your Honor.
01:31Mark it as Exhibit E.
01:42Thank you, Your Honor.
01:43Your Honor, Dr. Salvador, I am not an expert in medical terminologies,
01:52but I would like to know if such type of injury can be caused by falling and hitting the head with a hard object such as a rice bowl?
02:08Well, based on the severity of the injury, it cannot be sustained by simply hitting the head with a rice bowl.
02:16In order for the victim's head to be hit with such a hard object,
02:21it requires a lot of strength, possibly hitting it with a hammer or deliberately hitting it with a hard object.
02:38Your Honor, it is clear from the testimony of our expert witness
02:43that it was not just a simple hitting of the head that caused the death of Ricardo Veloso.
02:49Instead, he was hit hard on the head.
02:53Instead, he was hit hard on the head.
02:56Instead, he was hit hard on the head.
03:01Instead, he was hit hard on the head.
03:07And it is not just self-defense if the cause of death is the severity of the injury.
