Construction starts on first underground school in Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia

Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Education says every seventh school in the country is currently damaged as a result of the full-scale invasion. Over 3,500 educational institutions have suffered some kind of destruction and nearly 400 have been completely destroyed.

00:12The school, which is designed to accommodate 500 students, is being built almost seven
00:17meters underground to provide a safe space from the ongoing fighting.
00:21Meanwhile, at the nearby overground school number 88, a radiation shelter is under construction,
00:28which will also double as a secure classroom.
00:49While some parents are wary about sending their children out to school in a country
00:53at war, others say it's important to maintain a sense of normalcy.
