A New Cancer Support Group Has Started in Telford - 5K Your Way Move Against Cancer

00:00I'm Sarah. I'm the regional ambassador for 5K Yore Way Move Against Cancer. I'm also the lead ambassador at

00:08Shrewsbury 5K Yore Way, and I've just today helped Janine launch the Telford 5K Yore Way group.

00:145K Yore Way Move Against Cancer is a support group with a difference for people, for anyone affected by cancer,

00:20to encourage people to stay active during and beyond their treatment, to provide a safe, supportive,

00:29inclusive environment for people, and to empower them to to keep moving during treatment.

00:36We walk, we talk,

00:39we socialise afterwards,

00:41and it's generally a very supportive environment.

00:47And yeah, literally for anyone affected by cancer, like patients, family, friends,

00:53healthcare professionals.

00:55We are linked in with parkruns,

00:58and we meet on the last Saturday of every month usually,

01:02at various parkruns. We've got about nine groups in the West Midlands now,

01:07but there's groups all over the country linked in with parkruns and

01:12treatment centres all over the country.
