00:00Afternoon. And thank you very much for coming. Yesterday, the work of change began. We're
00:13a change Labour Party. And yesterday, we started the work of changing the country. And as the
00:19dust settles on Thursday's result, what is becoming clear for, I think, all to see is
00:25the mood of the nation, of the country, what is expected of us, and the mandate that we
00:33have to deliver change. It's a mandate not just to govern, although it is certainly that,
00:39but it's a mandate that has put trust in us to change the country and to deliver. And
00:45it's a mandate to do politics differently. And that change started yesterday as well.
00:51I think I had the opportunity to set out to my cabinet precisely what I expect of them
00:57in terms of standards, delivery, and the trust that the country has put in them. And yesterday,
01:05I met Laurie Magnus, the independent advisor on standards, to discuss how we deliver in
01:12government. We also talked about preparations for the King's Speech. And I reminded the
01:17entire cabinet that we will be judged on actions, not on words. For the first time
01:24in 20-plus years, we have a majority in England, in Scotland, and in Wales. And that is a clear
01:34mandate to govern for all four corners of the United Kingdom. And therefore, I shall
01:42set off tomorrow to be in all four nations. I shall go first to Scotland. I shall then
01:50go to Northern Ireland, then to Wales, and then back to England, where I will meet the
01:57First Ministers, not just to discuss the issues and challenges of the day—of course, we
02:03will do that—but also to establish a way of working across the United Kingdom that
02:10will be different and better to the way of working that we've had in recent years, and
02:15to recognise the contributions of all four nations.
02:20On Thursday, we also got a mandate on economic growth, the number one mission of the Labour
02:27Government. And so we discussed at cabinet and have started the work on driving growth
02:33and to make sure that growth is everywhere across the whole country, so that people are
02:39better off everywhere, wherever they live.
02:42Later on Tuesday, I shall set off to Washington for the NATO summit. I've already had a number
02:48of international calls, as you will know, and as you would have expected, to establish
02:55the relations across with other countries, to have really important discussions about
03:01Ukraine and other pressing issues. And Washington will be an opportunity for me to have further
03:07discussions with some of the leaders I've already spoken to and some that I'm due to
03:11speak to.
03:13So this will be a politics and a government that is about delivery, is about service.
03:21Self-interest is yesterday's politics. I want a politics and a country that works for you.
