Miss International 2023 Andrea Rubio is in the Philippines for the Binibining Pilipinas 2024 coronation night on July 7, 2024, at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Venezuelan beauty queen met up with members of the Philippine media at the Ibis Style Hotel in Cubao, Quezon City, on Friday, July 5.
Asked about her first time visiting the country, Rubio said, "I love Manila. The weather is similar to Caracas [the capital city of Venezuela]. My hair starts to grow every single hour. It's really hot but I'm used to it.
"I really like it. It's really crowded and a lot of traffic. Definitely, we have a lot of things in common...motorcycles everywhere. We also have that a lot and people, they're not so quiet. You're loud. In Venezuela, we're also very loud.
"When you're in another country, [people tell you], 'Shhh.' 'I'm sorry, this is just the way I speak.' We're very similar."

00:00How is it like bonding with the kids of World Vision?
00:05Oh yeah, it was really good.
00:08We went to a fiesta carnival and I was like a little kid playing.
00:14It was so much fun.
00:17The kids were really happy so we had a lot of fun together.
00:22I also did a storytelling with some books they brought me and it was really nice.
00:29It was really nice, refreshing. I think we all need that moment to feel like kids again, to play.
00:35And it doesn't matter if my hair gets messy, I'm feeling good, I'm feeling happy.
00:40And that was the most important part of it. It was really nice.
00:43Hope to see all the kids again.
00:45If you get offers to host or do a show here in the Philippines, would you be open to accepting?
00:50Yes, absolutely. Always.
00:53I'm free. I would love it.
00:57This is your first time here in Manila, right?
00:59Yes.
01:00How do you find Manila so far?
01:02I love Manila. The weather is really similar to Caracas.
01:06My hair starts to grow every single hour.
01:10It's really hot but I'm really used to it.
01:14I really like it. It's really crowded and a lot of traffic in Manila.
01:20So definitely we have a lot of things in common.
01:24Motorcycles everywhere and we also have that a lot.
01:30And people, they're not so quiet.
01:34We're so loud.
01:35You're loud. And in Venezuela, we're also very loud.
01:39When you're in another country, it's like, shh, you're speaking too loud.
01:44I'm like, I'm sorry, because I'm just the way I speak.
01:47So we're very similar to it.
01:49Have you tried any local delicacies or food?
01:53What is your most favorite so far?
01:55Definitely, I have no doubt, adobo.
02:00Adobo, chicken adobo.
02:02I tried the lamb adobo but my favorite is the chicken adobo.
02:07It's so delicious.
02:09I like that here, food is really salty and sweet.
02:13And I like that because I really have put a lot of salt into everything.
02:18My cholesterol, I don't love it, but I do.
02:23Do you have a chance to stay longer?
02:25Where do you want to go here in the Philippines?
02:27I would love to go to every single island.
02:30I know there's a lot of beaches, beautifulness.
02:33Also, from here, we have a lot of views.
02:38Beautiful views and beautiful beaches.
02:40So I would definitely love to come back and do some tourism here.
02:48Here in the Philippines.
02:52And how do you find the Philippine tern?
02:54I love it!
02:56Look at this, I was dreaming of using something like this.
03:01I think in Indonesia, it's called negabaya.
03:05And here, the butterfly's...
03:08Sleep.
03:09Tern?
03:10Philippine tern.
03:11Sleep.
03:12Butterfly's tern.
03:14Butterfly's sleeps.
03:16Yes?
03:17Tern.
03:18Philippine tern.
03:19I love it.
03:20And I love this color.
03:21I've never used it before.
03:22It's a really cool color.
03:24And I'm really happy and honored to use this.
03:27Because it's part of your culture too.
03:29So, it's an honor.
03:31Thank you.
03:32Thank you.
