00:24The Labour Party have won the UK general election and will form government.
00:29Preliminary overnight results show that Labour reached a majority in parliament with a thumping
00:35326 seats.
00:38Party leader Sir Keir Starmer told supporters in London that Labour won the mandate to relight
00:43the country's fire.
00:45We did it!
00:50You campaigned for it, you fought for it, you voted for it and now it has arrived.
00:58The challenge begins now.
01:02Conservative party leader and outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitted defeat in a
01:08concession speech in his Richmond electorate.
01:11The British people have delivered a sobering verdict tonight.
01:14There is much to learn and reflect on and I take responsibility for the loss.
01:20On Thursday, voters across the UK decided that Labour will return to power after 14
01:26years in opposition.
01:29Labour is the big winner of the night but its percentage of the vote has not increased
01:33significantly in either Wales or England but it's Scotland that's made the big difference
01:38where Labour has made massive gains at the expense of the SNP, the Scottish National
01:43Party.
01:44But today in London it's a new dawn for British politics.
01:48We are expecting the King to formally appoint Sir Keir Starmer as the new Prime Minister
01:54and for him to soon form his government and have his chance at bringing about the change
01:59that he's promised for the country.

02:08Iranians are voting today in a run-off election to replace the late President Ibrahim Raisi
02:12killed in a helicopter crash last month.
02:15After years of economic struggle, mass protests and tensions, public apathy has become pervasive
02:21in the Islamic Republic.
02:22Voters face a choice between the hardline former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili and
02:27Mesut Pezeskiyan, a heart surgeon and long-time parliament member who has allied himself with
02:32moderates and reformists within Iran's Shiite theocracy.
02:37The initial round of voting on June 28 saw no candidate get over 50% of the vote, forcing
02:43the run-off.
02:44This was also the lowest turnout ever for an Iranian election.
02:48There have been calls for a boycott, including from imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize laureate
02:52Nargi Mohammadi.
02:54Iran's 85-year-old Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has the final say on all matters of state.

03:04West.
03:05Make Europe Great Again, borrowing a phrase from Donald Trump, is the slogan of Hungary's
03:12six-month rotating presidency of the European Council.
03:16And just days into Hungary's presidency and Prime Minister Viktor Orban has drawn the
03:19ire of the EU, after reports emerged he's taking an unscheduled visit to Putin in Russia.
03:26President of the European Council Charles Michel reminded Orban he has no right to represent
03:29the EU in Moscow, tweeting the EU rotating presidency has no mandate to engage with Russia
03:35on behalf of the EU.
03:36No discussions about Ukraine can take place without Ukraine.
03:42Meanwhile the government says its priorities for the EU as part of the presidency include
03:46a strong line of migration, enlargement and it also has a strong role to play to ensure
03:50the smooth transition to a new college of commissioners after the European Parliament
03:55elections.
03:56It also says defence is a priority, but Hungary is still blocking 6.6 billion euros of military
04:01support for Ukraine.
04:02The Hungarian government took the decision that we provide a wide-ranging support for
04:09Ukraine, including humanitarian one, but we do not provide direct or indirect military
04:14support to Ukraine.
04:16The Hungarian government says it promises to be an honest broker and work hard on the
04:20transition to the new college of commissioners, despite the fact that Viktor Orban, the Prime
04:24Minister, voted against Ursula von der Leyen for a second term as President of the European
04:29Commission.
04:30However, there is concern among some member states that the constant blocking by Hungary
04:33on issues regarding Ukraine, whether it's military, finance or the areas of enlargement,
04:38will still cause consternation.

04:44The new European tariffs on electric cars made in China are to officially come into

05:07After a nine-month investigation, the European Commission accuses Beijing of unfair competition
05:12by subsidizing production and lowering prices.
05:16There are significant interests, industrial interests and employment interests in Europe
05:24and our investigation has clearly shown that there is damage being done through these unfair
05:32practices by China to the interests of EU industry, those who produce electric vehicles
05:41in Europe.
05:43The purpose of the measure is to protect European industry, it has the support of countries
05:48with an important car industry such as France and Italy, but not Germany.
06:11The tariffs will remain in place until a final decision is taken in four months, which EU
06:29member states could block if they mount a qualified majority against the proposal.
06:35In the meantime, it may become clear what retaliatory measures China will take.

07:02who allegedly threw the severed head outside.
07:06The man later called the police himself and is now under arrest.

07:16for the last six months.
07:23Twenty-four police officers from eight countries will spend the summer in the southern county
07:28of Split, Dalmatia, to provide safety for tourists.
07:33The international patrols will also be on hand to inform and advise tourists and locals
07:38in the case of an emergency.
07:41The tourist police force was formed in Croatia 18 years ago.
07:47It's so far seen around 1,200 officers from 20 countries take part.
08:17We manage everything ourselves.
08:34So we do the client schedules.
08:37We decide how much time we spend with the clients.
08:40And it's not only the caring part, but also a little bit of talking.
08:46And we have the time to do that, because there's no overhead and that saves a lot of money.
