NSW woman suffers serious injuries in Bali
Australian woman Rebecca Ode has received brain, eye, and reconstructive surgery in Bali after being found with severe head injuries. How she sustained the injuries remains unknown.

00:00It was Tuesday morning that her family got the call to say that Rebecca Ode had been
00:06injured on an extended trip to Bali.
00:08Now her family have told the ABC that she underwent 14 hours of surgery to address a
00:15brain hemorrhage and shattered eye socket.
00:18She's also broken her jaw, her cheekbones and her collarbones and her family now have
00:23concerns that she may have lost the use of one of her eyes.
00:27Rebecca Ode was found on a small island off the main island of Bali and was rushed to
00:32the main island.
00:34She's being treated at Denpasar's General Hospital where her family are waiting for
00:38her to become stable enough to bring her back to Australia.
00:42They've set up a GoFundMe page appealing for help to cover the costs of her hospital bills
00:47and to medically evacuate her back to Sydney, then on to Newcastle.
00:52Another sad aspect of this story is that Rebecca Ode's trip to Bali came two years after her
00:59father's death and her family have told the ABC that she was on a rebuilding mission and
01:05that she was focusing on getting her health back on track.
01:10It's still unclear how her injuries were sustained.
