00:00So it's the biggest honour of my life to be elected to represent the wonderful people of Hazel Grove constituency
00:06and I couldn't be prouder of my campaign team, the team you've run
00:10and just a huge thank you to absolutely everybody who voted Lib Dem in Hazel Grove
00:15and whether you voted for me or not, I am going to work tirelessly, year in, year out
00:20taking an absolute test of myself for standing up for this community. Thank you.
00:25So we've seen, it's kind of looking like quite a good night for the Lib Dems.
00:29How does it feel for you to know that you're heading back to Parliament
00:32knowing that you'll have a lot more colleagues and candidates kind of standing beside you?
00:36Heading back to Parliament, it's my first election win
00:39so I look forward to joining a big, thriving, vibrant group of Liberal Democrats in Parliament
00:46and being that Liberal voice that our country needs.
00:49We're going to be standing up for the things that people have told me on the doorstep
00:52time after time that they care most about, standing up to get our health and social care system
00:57the funding it needs, the attention it needs
01:00but also to do things like stop the water companies from dumping more sewage into our rivers and our waterways
01:06and take real action on the cost of living that too many people are still struggling with.
01:11So yeah, I look forward to getting cracking after a little bit of a kick.
01:15I'm absolutely delighted and overwhelmed
01:19that people have thrown their support behind me and the Liberal Democrat campaign here.
01:23I think we've got a lot of work to do and I'm really excited to start the job.
01:29So is it a case now of you kind of getting some rest and then cracking on with the job in hand as soon as possible?
01:35I want it, yeah. I want to get on with the job as soon as possible.
01:38We've got a lot to do. I've been talking about stepping into a hospital and getting the money to get the repairs done
01:43and that's going to be my key priority so yeah, got to get to work.
01:47So obviously we've seen across the country that Lib Dems have had quite a good night and there's been a lot of seats won.
01:53Is it nice knowing that you're going to Parliament with lots of other Lib Dem colleagues around you?
01:59Yeah, absolutely and I think this has shown the testament that the campaign nationally that Ed Davies has been running
02:05where he's been getting the media attention for some of the stunts he's been doing
02:09but he's been talking about issues that people really care about like the sewage being dumped into our rivers
02:14talking about social care and that's really resonated with people
02:17so I'm delighted that we're going to be able to take that agenda and fight for those things in Parliament.
