Fylde Conservative candidate Andrew Snowden says its looks like its going to be tight
Transcript
00:00Andrew Snowden, Conservative candidate for Fylde, I just wondered what your hopes and
00:03expectations for tonight were at this stage of the count, about three and a
00:07half hours in? Well I think at this stage of the count it's very very clear, as we've
00:11suspected all along, it's going to be a much closer, much much closer race than
00:15normal in Fylde and our hopes and expectations are that we as a Conservative
00:20party hold this seat, or we know we will if we do, by a very very slim majority.
00:25But the votes are being counted right behind us, we don't know what the
00:29result's going to be at this point, it's clearly very tight, so we will just have
00:32to wait and see for that little bit longer. Any thoughts on the exit polls as
00:37far as the Conservatives nationally are concerned? I think from the exit poll
00:41perspective, obviously some of the polls were showing us going down to as far as
00:4550 and 60 seats, so at 131 which the exit poll shows, that will be a relief to
00:51many, but it's clearly and unavoidably a very very bad night for the Conservative
00:55party and once the dust has settled on tonight there will be time to think, to
01:00regroup and to decide the right path on what is next for the Conservative party.
