Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) is the 18th chapter (surah) of the Quran with 110 verses and 12 rukus.. It was revealed in Mecca. The surah Kahaf mentions the wondrous story of a group of youthful believers who retreated from their unbelieving people to the hills and the seclusion of The Cave wherein God caused them to sleep for three hundred and nine lunar years as a sign to their people that God shall, indeed, raise the dead—and that also mentions the narratives of other marvels beyond ordinary human conception. Its name is derived from the story of the “Companions of the Cave” (aṣḥāb al-kahf) told at its beginning. This surah also deals with two other stories: Moses’ meeting with an unidentified figure , and the story of Dhuʾl-Qarnayn . A parable is put forward for the people of Mecca: the parable of the luscious gardens belonging to an arrogant and ungrateful man, which God reduces to dust. The surah opens and closes with references to the Quran itself. Whoever reads Surah Kahf on Friday, ALLAH will shower a light (NOOR) on a face that will last till the next two Fridays. Those who recite this Surah on every Friday, ALLAH will forgive all of his/her sins. Whoever reads Surah Kahf on Friday ALLAH will bless his house and protect him/her from poverty. 00:00And We send down from the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers.
00:21In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:27All praise is due to Allah, who has sent down to His servant the Book, and has not made for it any crookedness,
00:40established that He may warn of a severe punishment from Himself and give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward,
01:01that they will not be harmed therein forever, and that He may warn those who say,
01:09Allah has taken as a son. They have no knowledge of it, nor do their fathers. It is a great word that comes out of their mouths. They say nothing but a lie.
01:30So perhaps you will cause yourself to weep over their footsteps if they do not believe in this hadith.
01:43Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth an adornment for it, that We may test them as to which of them is best in deed.
01:53Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth an adornment for it, that We may test them as to which of them is best in deed.
02:02Or do you think that the companions of the cave and the rock were of Our signs in wonder?
02:13When the young men turned to the cave and said,
02:18Our Lord, give us from Yourself mercy, and make easy for us our affair in a right way.
02:29So We struck their ears in the cave for a number of years.
02:36Then We resurrected them that We might know which of the two parties was best in that which they stayed for a long time.
02:48We relate to you their story in truth. Indeed, they were young men who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.
03:02And We struck their hearts when they stood up and said,
03:08Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will not invoke other than Him a deity. Indeed, We will say, when He has spoken.
03:28These are a people who have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not come to them with a clear solution?
03:46So who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah?
03:52And when you have withdrawn from them and they worship none but Allah, then go to the cave. Your Lord will spread for you from His mercy and make easy for you your affair in a right way.
04:21And you will see the sun, when it rises, move away from their cave to the right, and when it sets, move them to the left, and they will be in a gap.
04:37That is from the signs of Allah. Whoever Allah guides, he is the guided one, and whoever He leaves astray, you will not find for him a rightful guardian.
04:56And you will think of them as wakes while they are sleepers, and We will turn them to the right and to the left, and their dog, his arm extended in the middle.
05:15If you had looked at them, you would have turned away from them, fleeing, and you would have been filled with terror.
05:26And thus did We raise them that they might ask one another. One of them said,
05:39How long did you stay? They said, We stayed a day or part of a day. They said, Your Lord knows best what you stayed for, so send one of you with this document to the city,
06:02and let him see which of them is purer in food, and let him bring you provision from him, and let him receive kindness, and let him not make you aware of anyone.
06:25Indeed, if they appear before you, they will stone you or repeat you in their religion, and you will not succeed then ever.
06:55And indeed, the Hour is not to be feared therein, when they dispute among themselves their affair, and they say, Build for them a building.
07:10Their Lord is most knowing of them. Those who have gone astray say about their affair, We will surely take upon them a masjid.
07:31They will say, Three, the fourth of them is their dog, and they will say, Five, the sixth of them is their dog, a blow in the unseen.
07:45And they will say, Seven, the eighth of them is their dog. Say, My Lord knows best their number. He knows them not except a little.
08:01So do not dispute among them except in plain sight, and do not inquire among them of any of them,
08:15and do not say of anything, Indeed, I will do that tomorrow, except that Allah wills.
08:33And remember your Lord when you forget, and say, It may be that my Lord will guide me to a nearer way than this.
08:45And they stayed in their cave three hundred years, and increased by nine. Say, Allah knows best what they stayed in.
08:57For Him is the unseen of the heavens and the earth. See with it and hear. They have no protector other than Him, and He does not associate anyone with Him in His judgment.
09:16And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no substitute for His words, and you will not find besides Him any refuge.
09:36And be patient with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, desiring His Face.
09:48And let not your eyes deviate from them, desiring the adornment of the worldly life.
09:56And do not obey him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, and who follows his desire, and whose affair is ever in disorder.
10:11And say, The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve.
10:25Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire, encircling them in its surroundings.
10:35And if they seek to escape, they will be drowned in water like oil, burning their faces.
10:46Evil is that which they perceive, and evil is that which they associate with Allah.
10:54Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds, indeed, We do not waste the reward of one who does a good deed.
11:06Those will have Gardens of Eternity beneath which rivers flow.
11:16They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold, and they will be wearing green garments of silver and silver,
11:37reclining therein on couches. Excellent is the reward, and excellent is the reward.
11:52And set forth for them an example of two men. We made for one of them two gardens of grapevines, and We surrounded them with date-palms, and We placed between them crops.
12:14Each of the two gardens gave its fruits, and it did not wrong at all, and We caused a river to flow through it.
12:31And he had a fruit, and he said to his companion, while he was talking to him, I am greater in wealth than you, and more powerful in men.
12:50And he entered his garden, and he was unjust to himself. He said, I do not think that this will ever perish, and I do not think that the Hour will be established, and if I am returned to my Lord, I will certainly find it.
13:19And if I am returned to my Lord, I will certainly find better than it in return.
13:49But he is Allah, my Lord, and I do not associate anyone with my Lord.
14:08And if only, when you entered your garden, you said, Allah willed it, there is no power except with Allah. If you see me, I am less than you in wealth and children.
14:37So it may be that my Lord will give me better than your garden, and He will send upon it a cloud from the sky, and it will become a rising cloud.
15:00Or its water will become deep, and you will not be able to return to it.
15:30And he will say, I wish I did not associate anyone with my Lord, and he would not have a party to help him other than Allah, and he would not have been able to help.
15:51There is true loyalty to Allah. He is the best in reward and the best in punishment.
16:21And Allah is over all things competent.
16:46Wealth and children are the adornment of this worldly life, and good deeds are better with your Lord in reward and better in hope.
17:07And the Day We will move the mountains, and you will see the earth standing out, and We will gather them together, and We will not leave any of them.
17:20And they will be presented before your Lord in rows, saying, You have come to us as We created you the first time. But you claimed that We would not make for you an appointment.
17:38And the Book will be placed, and you will see the criminals in awe of what is in it, and they will say, O woe to us! What is this Book? It does not leave a small thing or a great thing except a number.
18:03And they will find that which they did is present, and your Lord does not wrong anyone.
18:34Do you take him and his progeny as allies instead of Me, while they are to you an enemy? Wretched is the exchange for the wrongdoers.
18:50I did not make them witness the creation of the heavens and the earth or the creation of themselves, and I would not take the misguided as an ally.
19:12And the Day will come when they will say, Call the partners of Mine whom you claimed, and they will call upon them, but they will not respond to them, and We will place a barrier between them.
19:31And the criminals will see the Fire, and they will think that they will fall into it, and they will not find from it a way out.
20:01And what prevented the people from believing when guidance came to them and they asked forgiveness of their Lord, except that the way of the ancients should come to them, or the punishment should come to them readily.
20:28And We do not send messengers except as bearers of good tidings and warners. And those who disbelieve argue with falsehood that they may take with it the truth and take My signs, and they are not warned in mockery.
20:56And who is more wronged than one who is reminded of the signs of his Lord but turns away from them and forgets what his hands have sent forth? Indeed, We have placed upon their hearts a barrier that they may understand, and in their ears is deafness.
21:19And if you invite them to guidance, then they will never be guided. And your Lord is Forgiving, Possessor of Mercy. If He had seized them for what they earned, He would have hastened for them the punishment.
21:41Rather, for them is an appointment which they will not find other than it. And those cities We destroyed when they were wrongdoers, and We made for their destruction an appointment.
22:07And when Moses said to his servant, I will not leave until I reach the junction of the two seas or pass a period.
22:20And when they reached the junction between them, they forgot their fish, and he took his way in the sea, fleeing.
22:32And when they had passed, he said to his servant, Give us our guide. Indeed, we have received from our journey this helper.
22:47He said, Did you see when we turned to the rock? Indeed, I forgot the fish, and none made me forget it except Satan, that I should remember him. And he took his way in the sea, wondering.
23:10He said, That is what we were seeking. So he returned to their footsteps, narrating.
23:21So he found a servant of Our servants. We gave him mercy from Us, and We taught him from Ourself knowledge.
23:36Moses said to him, Shall I follow you to teach me what you have been taught correctly? He said, Indeed, you will not be able with me to be patient.
23:54And how can you be patient for that in which you have no knowledge? He said, You will find me, if Allah wills, patient. And I will not disobey you in any matter.
24:14He said, So if you follow me, do not ask me for anything until I give you from it a reminder.
24:44He said, Did I not say that you will not be able with me to be patient? He said, Do not take me for what I forgot, and do not make difficult for me my affair.
25:04So he set off, until he met a boy, and he killed him. He said, Did you kill a pure soul without a soul? Indeed, you have done an abominable thing.
25:27He said, Did I not say to you that you will not be able with me to be patient? He said, If I ask you for anything after this, do not accompany me. You have reached from Me an excuse.
25:50So he set off, until, when he came to the people of a town, they asked for food for their people, but they refused to host them.
26:08So they found therein a wall, which he wanted to break, so he erected it. He said, If you willed, you would have taken a reward for it.
26:24He said, This is the separation between me and you. I will inform you of the interpretation of what you were not able to do patiently.
26:38As for the ship, it belonged to poor people who worked in the sea, so I wanted to repair it. And there was behind them a king who seized every ship by force.
26:58And as for the boy, his parents were believers, so we feared that he would oppress them by rebellion and disbelief. So we wanted that their Lord should replace them with one better than him in purity and closer to mercy.
27:28And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and beneath it was a treasure for them, and their father was righteous.
27:45So your Lord intended that they should reach maturity, and that He should take out of their treasure a mercy from your Lord. And I did not do it by my command.
28:09That is the interpretation of what you were not able to do patiently.
28:18And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnayn. Say, I will recite to you from him a reminder.
28:28Indeed, We have established for him in the land, and We have given him of everything a way. So he followed a way.
28:43Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a blinding fire, and he found with it a people. We said, O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish, or you take in them good.
29:11He said, as for the wrongdoer, we will punish him, then he will be returned to his Lord, and He will punish him a terrible punishment.
29:30And as for he who believes and does righteousness, for him is the reward of good. And We will say to him of Our command, easily. Then he followed a way.
29:50Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it rising on a people whom We had not made a cover for them besides it. Thus it was, and We took with what he had of knowledge. Then he followed a way.
30:15Until, when he reached between the two mountains, he found besides them a people who could hardly understand a word.
30:35They said, O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Ya'juj and Ma'juj are corrupters in the land, so shall we make for you an exception that you make between us and them a barrier?
30:58He said, What my Lord has established for me is better, so help me with strength that I may make between you and them a barrier. Give me the pieces of iron.
31:21Until, when he reached between the two clouds, he said, Blow. Until, when he made it a fire, he said, Give me, I will pour over it a drop.
31:44But they could not bring it out, nor could they make a cover for it. He said, This is a mercy from my Lord.
32:14And We left some of them that Day to waver among themselves, and the Horn was blown, and We gathered them together. And We presented Hell, that Day, to the disbelievers as a display.
32:38Those whose eyes were covered from My remembrance, and they could not hear.
32:53Did those who disbelieved think that they would take My servants as allies besides Me? Indeed, We have prepared Hell for the disbelievers as a descent.
33:18Say, Shall We inform you of the losers in deeds?
33:27Those whose effort has been lost in the life of this world while they think that they are doing good.
33:44Those are the ones who disbelieved in the signs of their Lord and in meeting Him.
33:54So their deeds were in vain, and We will not give them a weight on the Day of Resurrection.
34:03That is their recompense, Hell, because they disbelieved and took My signs and My messengers as a mockery.
34:23Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them will be the Gardens of Paradise as a descent,
34:41Abiding therein, they will not desire from it any change.
34:48Say, If the sea were an extension of the words of my Lord, the sea would surely overflow before the words of my Lord would overflow, even if We brought with it the like of it.
35:13Say, I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is one God.
35:32So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do righteous deeds, and let him not associate anyone with the worship of his Lord.
