28:04But also just in terms of his personality that Ryan's mom would be one of the the voices that he hears the angel on his
28:10Shoulder. Yeah, and so I really think that they both speak to who he is as a person at this stage of his life
28:15He does have that empathy, but he also still has he's it's like to
28:20Hemisphere what is it called the hemispheres of the brain?

28:29Probably the one that he has the most connection to that's probably really easy for him to access

29:24We didn't really need anything from Samir. I just it just was seemed like an interesting opportunity for
29:29Butcher and Samir just like what's going on? You're crazy, you know for him to freak out
29:35but you know for a while at since the previous episode I kind of just thought that where the conversation was headed was
29:42Injecting something into like the water supply kind of like what they did in Batman Begins, you know
29:46At least there was some kind of thought in that direction. I

29:51Stupidly that like if you do something like that, you are harming people who matter to him
29:56Yeah, you know it only like I'd only like kind of became crystal clear in that moment for me
30:02And so yeah, you can't do that. And so the fact that Butcher's resisting it
30:06I mean, he's not he wouldn't go through with something like that
30:09Like I did think for a split second that the conversation was gonna be it's worth it to sacrifice
30:15Ryan for the greater good and it's sort of coming up, but it hasn't been fully
30:20You know talked about yet. Well, my fear is that you know as the
30:26Tumor progresses and as it gets bigger in his brain if maybe or compromised
30:31Yeah, I don't know if that is making him even more violent
30:35Do you know what I mean if that if it kind of feeds into that somehow and that at this point the fact that his
30:42Wife has now disappeared. Maybe that's telling I think that's just for the moment. I think they both disappear in that moment

31:18It feels like maybe that's not a hundred percent true. All the characters are each going through their own form of pain

31:34It's so much so that the only person she feels like she can turn to is someone who's equally gone who's gone through an equal

31:43Butcher he lost his wife. He found out things about his wife. He's got this other kid. He's trying to save that's not even his own
31:49Blood child, you know, it's like his his whole thing is supremely complicated
31:53But like I feel like what we see throughout the show is Huey being tortured
31:59Emotionally tortured if Huey Huey is tortured for fun. Do you know I mean, it's like for laughs. It's not funny to me
32:06No, it's awful. It's like it's it's awkward. It's awful. It's gross. I felt so angry
32:12anxious, I think the reason I feel so much empathy for him is because I'm like
32:16Well, that would be my superpower, wouldn't it?
32:17Like when he when he ends up having to like it would disappear to reappear naked and stuff
32:22And I'm just like yeah, that would be it. It's just like the most awkward power possible
32:26Yeah, you know, it's like at least his dad kept his clothes on. Yeah, I'm sure there must have been a conversation

33:42So yeah, cuz like the persona that they present to you isn't necessarily
33:47Who they actually are and so sometimes when you get to see them in their natural habitat, you're like, oh my god

33:58plot twist with the the tortured gimp in the red suit was
34:03Interesting to me like because he knew the secret and it seemed like he was there against his will

34:14So clearly that guy was did something maybe was also trying to take him down

35:35Yeah, the more you spend money on stuff the more you give attention to something that just tells people. Oh, this is attention-worthy

35:44I feel I feel like I feel like all the bad press for acolyte might have given it more attention than it would have gotten
35:49Otherwise, yeah, people are hate watching exactly
35:52It's like you're either watching it because you're into it or you're watching it because you're hate watching it at this point
35:56But anyway back to this that moment where Huey is like yo, I'm not alright
36:00There was so much going on in this episode that like it could have gotten me
36:05But it's like it like it it was it was very fleeting and moved on but like I did feel for him in that moment
36:12It's because like there you you do come back to it
36:14The way this kicked off was, you know, he's embracing work and I feel like that's actually a good move
36:19I was I told I was told that by my mom because I helped her get through it when my dad passed away
36:24I mean everyone's different right, you know
36:26some people might need the time to process and some people are just like no I want to throw myself into doing something else because
36:31It's a distraction. I feel like being active is the best way to move forward
36:36There is an argument to be made of like processing and properly processing stuff in a healthy way
36:41But I do think that sometimes if you are if you have idle hands, you are likely to dwell sure
36:47And so getting right back into the thick of it
36:49I think was a smart move, but then eventually it kind of hits you out of nowhere

37:02I'm saying like it'll it'll happen down like a few months later or something where you're like it just kind of catches you off-guard
37:08Someone very close to me who lost his mom ages ago
37:10He said that like it was like three years went by and it just hit him because he had to stay strong for his family
37:16right and in three years went by and he had to pull over to the side of the road and just sob and it just
37:21Like cuz it was uncontrollable. And so it's usually not the next day
37:27Yeah, but but it does resonate it's like that kind of thing does happen where it just kind of catches you
37:32It's like oh shit. Like I'm not cool. Um, it it's hurting. Yeah, it's a weird pain
37:37I'm glad they brought that into the show
37:38Even though I didn't want to lose Simon Pegg because it just adds a very real element to the whole thing
37:43I think my favorite moment in the entire episode was when I keep forgetting the politician lady's name
37:48Victoria Victoria when she turns around to get the acknowledgement from sage and say just like
37:54Cake is all over her face. I look at chocolate cake the same way now
37:58The what makes that so great is that it was appropriately set up because they had the whole torture scene with the deep, right?
38:05And it's like she likes that because it allows her to not
38:09Process all this bullshit going on almost like someone smoking weed to not like have to deal with reality
38:13They set this up episodes ago that this happens and like it's a regular thing with her brain that regenerates
38:19And so you have this moment here where she gets shot and it's like oh god and then a train comes in and all that
38:24It's like surely she's in the shadows and she hears all this happening
38:27Like, you know, you're thinking all this stuff that like now he's gonna be found out and then you realize oh, no, she's in child
38:36Yeah, and it's great and it's like everything that happens as a result and everybody's reactions to it it's all fantastic
