Tim Burton's Beetlejuice sequel to open 2024 Venice Film Festival

00:00Organizers of the Venice Film Festival announced the highly anticipated sequel

00:04to Tim Burton's 1988 classic Beetlejuice will premiere at this year's event.

00:08Titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the film brings back actor Michael Keaton in his

00:14iconic role as the havoc wreaking demon. Scheduled to kick off the festival on

00:19August 28 and run through September 7 on Venice's Lido, the film will be shown

00:24out of competition. The sequel arrives 36 years after the original which played a

00:29pivotal role in establishing Burton as a visionary filmmaker renowned for his

00:34distinctive blend of fantasy, visual effects and gothic horror.
