00:00The Kuala Lumpur High Court has dismissed Najib Razak's application to commence judicial
00:07review proceedings against the government to produce a purported supplementary decree
00:12by the former Yang Di Pertuan Agong.
00:14The decree would allegedly allow Najib to serve the remainder of his jail term under
00:18house arrest.
00:19Justice Amarjeet Singh held that there was no arguable case warranting a full hearing
00:23of the application.
00:24Najib's lawyer, Shafi Abdullah, told the court that they would file an appeal against
00:29Earlier this year, the Federal Territories Pardons Board halved Najib's prison sentence
00:34from 12 years to six.
00:36His fine was also reduced from 210 million ringgit to 50 million ringgit.
00:41In the application filed in April, Najib claimed that Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah
00:46had issued the supplementary decree during the Pardons Board's meeting on January 29th.
00:50Najib alleged that the supplementary decree was not announced by the board on February
00:542nd, and that the government was in contempt for not executing it.
