When Ford introduced the Raptor trim to its off-road vehicles, it became the brand to beat, and the line of competitors hasn’t stopped since. But with the Ford Bronco Raptor, the company may have set up an internal competition: is there a truck or SUV that can out-perform it?
The Bronco Raptor, priced from $90,035, is the ultimate Bronco. While it’s the most masterful of the lineup for off-roading, it’s filled with comforts and tuned for comfortable street driving, so wherever your day takes you, the Bronco Raptor can, too.
The Bronco Raptor is designed to conquer the toughest roads, the longest desert rallies and the sheerest rock faces. In addition to all of the off-road capabilities Bronco offers, which includes GOAT drive modes (which stands for goes over all terrain) that include normal, eco, off-road, Baja, rock crawl, tow/haul, and slippery, the Bronco Raptor adds to what the Bronco already does: it raises ground clearance to 13 inches from 8.8; thanks to wider wheels and protective fenders it is 8.5” wider than the standard Bronco; and it adds 37” all terrain tires that are capable on all types of surfaces. And to ensure it can lead the pack across the desert, it carries the most powerful engine, a 3.0L twin turbo V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission that generates 418 hp, a more than 100 hp increase from the output of the 2.7 V6 engine in other Bronco models.

00:00This is the Ford Bronco Raptor, and it delivers everything that is Bronco, and everything that is Raptor, in one package.
00:10The Ford Bronco Raptor comes in with a price tag over $90,000.
00:14It's the most expensive Bronco that you can get, but it also is the most capable.
00:19It has the larger 37-inch tires. It has enhanced suspension.
00:22It has additional GOAT modes. GOAT stands for goes over all terrain.
00:27And that really is the hallmark of Raptor.
00:30Raptor, you'll find in the F-150. You'll even find it in their other pickup trucks, like the Ranger.
00:36And what Raptor does is add that off-road capability and performance to the truck, or in this case, to the Bronco.
00:44In addition to normal and sport mode, yes, it does have sport mode, there's also tow-haul and off-road.
00:51And then it has Baja mode, which will really help you with enhanced suspension and traction on those high-speed off-road trails.
00:59The Bronco Raptor is powered by Ford's EcoBoost V6 turbo that produces 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.
01:09It's really powerful. It's the most powerful Bronco that they build.
01:12On the inside, you're going to be spoiled. This is the most beautiful interior on any Bronco.
01:19It has everything. It's completely loaded. Not just all the technical capabilities, but also all the creature comforts.
01:26Most Bronco trims don't have leather seats.
01:28They have something that's a little easier to clean, and that's all about the performance aspects.
01:32But the Raptor is designed for daily driving and ultimate comfort.
01:36So leather seats with suede inserts are an addition that you can add for about $3,000.
01:42The interior of the Bronco Raptor is really special.
01:46It is the high-end. It's the best of the best.
01:49And it's noted by not only the classic Bronco shape and organization, but then taking every element up to a higher level.
01:58So it starts with the Bronco Raptor wheel, which has the Raptor name down here, and then, of course, the Bronco logo here.
02:06And you have some key off-road capabilities here on the steering wheel, including Raptor mode.
02:15So here's the GOAT mode selector. And then if I want to choose four low or four high or one pedal drive.
02:25And then this is one pedal driving for off-roading.
02:28So this allows you to just use the accelerator to drive over hills and not have to rely on your brakes.
02:36For optimal off-road capability, you have some quick access buttons here, locking differentials on front and rear,
02:42and a stay bar or stabilization bar, sometimes called a sway bar right here, that you can connect or disconnect.
02:49Many Broncos don't have these features. You have to do those things manually or have your car modified.
02:55But here, these are added to the Ford Bronco Raptor.
02:59The Bronco Raptor can tow up to 4,500 pounds. And actually, you'll notice there are these orange recovery hooks on the front.
03:05That's so this guy can pull other people out of trouble when they get into a situation they can't handle.
03:11But 4,500 pounds of towing also means you can bring your jet skis, you can bring other toys, your dirt bikes with you.
03:18The ultimate Bronco experience is something you can also get on the Raptor.
03:22You can remove all the roof panels and really turn it into a four-door, five-passenger convertible.
03:28The starting price for the Bronco Raptor is about $90,000.
03:32Ours has two additional packages, the leather interior, which is about three grand, and the code orange trim.
03:39So you'll notice all the orange details, and that's about $2,500.
03:43If you think that $95,000 is a lot for a car, do consider this.
03:48When you purchase a Bronco, the Raptor, or any of them, you get a full day of learning to drive off-road at the Ford Bronco Off-Rodeo.
03:57You show up, and they put you in a Bronco, their Bronco, and they teach you how to use all the features, all the equipment.
04:04And you will learn to crawl rocks, ford water, and do everything that this SUV can do.
