00:00Hi can you introduce yourselves? I'm Katie Viola, I'm the Deputy Head and SENCO here at St Columba.
00:06I'm Hazel Moore, I'm the Assistant Head here at St Columba.
00:10So tell me how it feels to be a good school?
00:14Amazing, I think it's really validating for all the hard work, the dedication, everything that went into this to get to this point.
00:21It's just amazing, it's finally been validated by outside and just to spread that word there.
00:26It's confirming what we knew really and that the staff have worked so hard towards so it's a really nice celebration for us.
00:33So tell me why this is such a big moment for the school?
00:37I think the school when it was taken over by DCAT was an inadequate school.
00:41It's had a lot of support put into it and the Trust have been amazing in helping to support to bring it back up to where it needs to be.
00:48And I think for the community the school's never been judged as a good school in the history of the Ofsted.
00:53We've gone back as far as we can and we can't see that it's ever been judged as a good school.
00:57So for the community it's a huge thing that their local school is now judged as a good school
01:01and they've got that faith in us that we can do the best for their children.
01:04We've had a lot of change, there has been a lot of change over recent years so it's nice to have that settled now
01:10and we've got a direction that we're moving in which is really positive.
01:15So tell me what the future goals are for the school?
01:17So the future goals are to be that school of choice within the community.
01:20So now we've been validated as good, we don't want to lose sight of anything, we want to keep moving forward, keep getting better
01:25and improve everything we can with the outcomes for the children so that we are that school of choice.
01:30We want to enhance the curriculum, enhance the fine and make sure that all the children are getting enhanced experiences
01:36and life that they don't normally get opportunities to do.
