00:00Good morning, my name is Phil Hewitt, Group Arts Editor at Sussex Newspapers. Now, everyone
00:06knows one of the great highlights of a worthy summer is Rainbow Shakespeare in Highdown
00:11Gardens this year. It's Midsummer Night's Dream from July the 9th to the 14th, then
00:16The Winter's Tale, July the 16th to July the 21st. And now in The Winter's Tale is Charlotte
00:24Dubilich. Now, you are playing Hermione and this is your first time in Rainbow Shakespeare,
00:30but not your first time in that role. You've done Hermione before, haven't you?
00:35Yes, I was Hermione at drama school for our Shakespeare play, but not done in such a way
00:44that we're doing it with Rainbow Shakespeare. There's definitely much more happening being
00:49outside is adding to that as well. So it's really joyful to be able to explore her even
00:55more and get deeper into her character. And you were saying last time, it was a
00:58cut down version, which potentially trips you up this time, because you've got a whole of it.
01:06Yes, it had to be, I believe, 40 minutes before. So it was quite condensed. So my brain goes,
01:13oh, I know that line. And then the rest of the monologue, it goes, oh, that's new.
01:17I've been trying to learn that. And it sounds like you love the character.
01:21She's a really appealing person to play, isn't she?
01:25Absolutely. She was always on my bucket list. I was over the moon.
01:30And I like buses twice in four years. Yeah, which is absolutely just joyful to know.
01:37She's a powerhouse of a character. Tell me more what makes her so appealing to you.
01:42It's just her truth and integrity. She knows exactly who she is. And she's got nothing to
01:49hide. She's got nothing to be ashamed about. And she's funny, she's witty. And then when she's
01:55wronged, she stands gracefully and truthfully and stands on the side of justice.
02:02Fantastic. And there was a lovely fluke in a way to you doing this, because you got to know about
02:08the company through your parents who are moving from London to the Worthing area.
02:13Yes. So my parents are finally retiring this year and they want to move to the seaside and
02:17they chose Worthing after a lot of looking. So then when I saw online that Rainbow Shakespeare
02:23in Worthing were looking for their summer season, I went, it's a sign. It's meant to be.
02:28You've got to do it every year, isn't it?
02:30Yes, exactly. My parents are so excited to be able to join in with something,
02:36community and meet people now that I'm here.
02:39And all your research tells you what a lovely gig it is you've got, hasn't it?
02:44Yeah, everyone has been so wonderful, so welcoming.
02:48We've already been off to the pub, then social, which has been lovely.
02:53Fantastic. Well, good luck in your first summer in Worthing, Charlotte.
02:57And lovely to speak to you. Thank you.
03:00Thank you.
