UK Pride is coming to Yorkshire. MAFS star Matt Jameson shares where he will be appearing at.

00:00So we're joined by Matt Jameson and you're the UK Pride Ambassador this year.

00:05I am, I am, I'm so excited. So UK Pride is taking place in Doncaster and I'm

00:11ambassador, I'm gonna be hosting and I'm involved with lots of the events in the

00:15lead-up to it so it's really really exciting that Yorkshire has got UK Pride

00:20this year. And what other Pride events are going on in Yorkshire? So we've got

00:25Leeds Pride which is gonna be bigger and better than ever and again I'm gonna be

00:28hosting on the main stage which is super super exciting. I also run the

00:33charity Out Together, we're gonna be in the parade and I'll be leading that

00:36which is fab. We've got the All Out Together Ball which is taking place on

00:41the 29th of June at the Queen's Hotel in Leeds as part of the Pride, official

00:45Pride Month celebrations which is great so get your tickets now. And then also

00:50there's Wakefield Pride which is great. I might be making a little special

00:54appearance there but more about that another time. And I'm actually gonna be

01:00in Penzance as well so down in Cornwall doing Penzance Pride which is exciting

01:04so there's lots lots of super fun activities going on all in celebration

01:08of Pride this year. And what have you found, how has it changed over the years

01:12here in Yorkshire when it comes to the Pride events? Are there more going on now?

01:16Yes, Pride events now are everywhere and there's so much going on and so much

01:23buzz around them that the whole communities are getting behind them and

01:26also allies and everybody. It's a massive celebration but we have to remember where

01:30Pride came from as well and it is about the trailblazing work that the older

01:34generations did in giving us the freedoms that we have today and help

01:40lobbying and changing the laws. As you know over 50 years ago it was illegal to

01:44be to be gay. So we need to not forget where the Pride marches came from and it

01:49was a protest and it was about rallying for equality and we need to not

01:55forget that. But of course it's a massive party, it's a massive celebration and

01:59it's where the whole community can come together.
