China’s response to NASA on lunar samples studies

Chinese Foreign Minister spokesperson Mao Ning on Monday made a response to NASA spokesperson Faith McKie’s remarks last week, insisting that China is open to space exchanges and cooperation with the U.S., but the U.S. domestic laws such as “Wolf Amendment” could hinder the American scientists from taking part in the program.

McKie said that China has worked with the European Space Agency, France, Italy and Pakistan on the lunar mission in bringing the first-ever samples from the far side of the moon, but that NASA was not invited.
