00:00Well, let's see how he goes then on the start green flag at the back of the pack
00:04It's Lando Norris and Max Verstappen who starts on the front row for the sprint the lights
00:11Eventually come on. It's all eyes to the lights
00:14And foot to the floor as we go racing in Austria for the sprint good start from Verstappen
00:20Piastri get it alongside his teammate Lando Norris who holds on to second, Piastri slides through
00:26Russell holds on to fourth in front of the other Ferrari the two Aston Martins coming very close together out through turn one
00:33Going to walk now uphill through turn three the two McLaren side-by-side Norris on the inside, Piastri
00:39Handing it around the outside of Russell hugs that inside line trying to get traction on exit as he battles the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz
00:46Sainz then
00:48Struggling initially in turn one
00:49But he's right up alongside Russell now and the two McLaren boys need to make sure they don't hold each other up
00:55Because there are plenty of people to pounds behind them
00:58They've done okay so far it not tangling and not holding up Norris maintains position
01:04But Sainz is ahead of both Mercedes Perez and Charles Leclerc also battling
01:09And then just ahead of them Lewis Hamilton right on the gearbox of his teammate George Russell
01:15It's Verstappen who leads Norris Piastri Russell is fourth then comes Sainz
01:19Then it's the two Mercedes Russell and Hamilton Leclerc Perez and a good start from Kevin Magnussen as well
01:25To get himself up into the top ten
01:26That's at the expense of the Alpine of Pierre Gasly who falls down to 11th ahead of the two Aston Martins
01:32Then it's the RB of Sonoda Holkenberg is 15th
01:35Sergeant Ricciardo Bottas Joe and Albon from the pit lane 20th and last
01:39Drag reduction system enabled at the end of lap one and Alex Albon from the pit lane is already on the back of the pack
01:47Yeah, and at the moment Norris with the fastest lap as we come round to start lap four of 23 here
01:53We go again this red ball ring essentially three long straight separated by a few corners
01:58So we get plenty of doses of DRS three DRS zones as they close up once again through turn one
02:03And I wonder if Max didn't make a bit of a mistake on the previous lap in turn one
02:07But let's see how close Norris can get to now slipstream rear wing open and just a little bit too far behind for a lunge
02:15It's such a tight turn up there difficult cambers as well
02:19But now he gets another bite of the cherry
02:21Norris taking a much tighter line through turn three as they now had uphill a downhill into turn four once again
02:28The staff and has the inside Norris trying to find a way around but the staff and has him covered
02:34This is very much game on between one and two in the championship and one and two in this sprint the Stafford heads Norris
02:41Yeah
02:41You can see Norris having to correct a bit of a slide when he got in the turbulent air of the red bull
02:46If he can get in front he can come on this race. He looks like he's got enough speed
02:50This boats well for the Grand Prix as well
02:52Doesn't it down and uphill towards turn three the staff and got a very good drive off turn one
02:58And I think he'll get away with not having to defend knowing we come off the brake pedal. Can we slow it down?
03:04No, yes, just about at the top of the hill. That was a great lunge from Norris
03:10Now he's going to squeeze to the inside
03:12Of course, he still gets DRS himself and that is job done. But Max come straight back at it
03:18But stop and dives down the inside piastri tries to come through on his teammate as well
03:22But Stephen back into the lead as the two McLarens go toe-to-toe
03:27Norris down now outside of the Astri as piastri swings around the outside to get himself up into second place
03:35Norris who have the lead of this race in the palm of his hand then all of a sudden loses two positions down to third
03:42So max didn't feel like he needed to bend up into turn three and Norris just came off the brake pedal
03:48but then he returned the compliment at its cost not
03:52As the Astri was able to just watch on and seize his opportunity
03:56Now is up to piastri to slipstream up to turn three camp the Astri find himself in the lead of this sprint
04:03He's within a second
04:04He'll get the DRS his teammate behind still has the fastest that but after all of that the staff and finds himself back in the lead
04:11But having to look more in his mirrors than he would like and they're bringing along the rest of the gaggle as well signs
04:17Russell Hamilton are all right there and within a second the Claire and Perez rounding out the top eight and
04:23Signs now with DRS as well on Lando Norris and that'll help him drag the two Mercedes
04:29Along and if Leclerc can keep up as well, they're gonna join the party
04:35Here we go
04:35Then so this was Lando Norris closing right up to the back of Max Verstappen down the inside
04:42The staff didn't even try and fight that one big tried to cut underneath
04:45Yeah, and I believe so far behind it didn't look like a genuine overtaking opportunity
04:51But Lando has got off the brake pedal and then somehow was able to make it stop
04:55He opened the door up and Max was like, okay, I can do that as well
04:59So Lando will be ruined just leaving that door open on the inside
05:05Hard and fast racing from Norris and Verstappen and then Piastri
05:09Making hay while the sun shines for the sweeping move round the outside of turn six
05:14Yeah, Norris realises he's got to get out of there, but Max Verstappen locking up his front right in that move
05:20It'll give him a little bit of pain through the rest of the race with vibration
05:25He'll get DRS, let's see how close he can get to the rear end of Russell
05:31Who is also tucked up right behind
05:33Carlos Sainz as the leaders come through Verstappen then Piastri then Norris as Sainz does dive down the inside of
05:40Trying to defend from George Russell who tries to force Sainz into a mistake Sainz in the Ferrari in front having to defend
05:48From Russell behind Hamilton getting a grade-A view of this and Sainz can't do anything about George Russell later on the brakes round the outside
05:55Nice move from George Russell. Six Norris and Alonso the only two that are flashed up on my screen with track limits violations
06:02laps turn one for both of them. This is Daniel Ricciardo closing right up to the back of the
06:10Williams as he
06:12Breezes round the outside into turn four that was on Logan Sargent a little earlier Ron
06:18Tomorrow there certainly is and rules new rules this year around part time a it reopens
06:24After the sprint so teams can make set up changes coming into Grand Prix qualifying
06:29Luka Hulkenberg late on the brakes uphill through turn four as he battles with Daniel Ricciardo
06:36With the I said actually the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso apologies who is almost forced off the road quite aggressive there
06:45yeah, and
06:46Alonso lost two places with that didn't allow Ricciardo through he was right behind so
06:52That is now Hulkenberg up into 14th in the past
06:55Ricciardo in 15th and Alonso down in 16th the Aston Martins well 10th and 16th in this race
07:02Well Norris running out of time running out of corners to find a way through on his teammate for second
07:10But after a little bit of trouble in those opening few laps
07:13It has been sublime from Max Verstappen
07:18Who will cross the line and win the sprint in Austria the Red Bull man?
07:23Does it again this time at the Red Bull ring back-to-back?
07:28Piastri holds on to second ahead of his teammate Lando Norris who pushed him all the way
07:34So much so getting the fastest lap on the final lap of this race Russell had signs
07:40Hamilton Leclerc and Perez steals the final point in eighth
07:44But it's Perez his teammate Max Verstappen who starts Saturday off with a smile and wins the spring solid effort
07:53What about?
07:57I see the result
07:59Yeah, that was very spicy on the first couple of laps, but well done very very good pace and well managed
08:10So
