00:00I'm here. I'm blessed to be talking to you guys. I mean, I'm presenting an amazing movie.
00:04It's called Divorce in the Black, directed by Tyler Perry, starring me and Megan Good.
00:09And y'all in for a good ride July 11th on Amazon Prime. So I'm looking forward to it.
00:13They got the billboards all over the place. And I got my face up there next to Eddie Murphy. I said,
00:18mama, I made it. It looks really good. What can you tease about it? So obviously,
00:21it's about a couple going through a divorce. But what exactly what insight can you give us?
00:27Well, you know, we're going through something, you know, as couples that has two families that
00:31support each other. My family is like the crazy side. Hers is more like the sane side. And we
00:36clash. You know, we do clash because we're at odds. But I can say the movie is bigger than
00:41what they seen in a trailer. You know, there's something in there where you'll see why each
00:45family acts the way they do, especially my character. You know, he's not all just angry
00:49or nothing like that. He has a heart and it shows why he got to the point where he did in his life.
00:53And, you know, Mr. Tyler Perry, you know, he created a good script for everybody to,
00:58you know, be them true, authentic selves. And I'm just excited for this for everything. I'm
01:04excited. I'm stepping into some great things in life. And I'm very excited for the future.
01:09You should be. And I know you've been very open about how you were able to channel real
01:13emotions for this role. So how did you kind of balance your personal life in the movie at the
01:18same time? How did I balance it? I mean, I just put one foot in front of the other. That's all.
01:23I keep God first. I keep it simple and I keep my head head down and keep going. And I got two
01:28amazing children. I mean, everyone's it's all love. You know, we have two amazing children.
01:35We have an amazing co-parent relationship and it's nothing but love. And we're each
01:40other's biggest cheerleaders, you know, and we love each other. It's unconditional with us.
01:45You know what I'm saying? And when it comes to the two kids,
01:49what example are you setting for them when it comes to you being as open as you are with your
01:54emotions and your mental health? Be yourself and don't be afraid. Don't be afraid to tap into those
02:02emotions. You know what I'm saying? Because at the end of the day, that helps you. That gives
02:06you relief. You know, you tell somebody you love them, shed a tear, hug somebody, you know,
02:12that's all it's about. And that gives you strength. You get strength from being vulnerable and being
02:16honest. And that's what you should be. And yeah, and then you'll be fine. You know, hard work,
02:22dedication, hard work, dedication, and you'll get there for sure. And my last question for you is,
02:28what do you want your legacy to be? So obviously you've been working and acting for a very long
02:32time. So at this point in your career, what would you like your legacy to be?
02:38I would say I was a man of service and I helped impact and change lives, you know,
02:43and I left a legacy for my children, children's children, you know, and I inspired them to know
02:49that you can do all things under the sun. Keep God first, work hard, and anything's possible.
02:54I will leave that behind. Thank you, Corey.
