00:16That's what some rice retailers said when I talked to them here in the labor market in Manila.

00:21The price of rice is still high in our hearts this month of July.

00:31The price of rice is still not fluctuating compared to the past two months.

00:36In fact, here in the labor market in Manila,

00:39the price of well-milled rice was reduced by only P4 per kilo since April.

00:45Before, there was no P50, no P48, but now there is.

00:48However, there are also some rice here where the price of regular milled and well-milled rice is the same.

00:54It is noteworthy that the price of imported rice is reduced.

00:59It is reduced from P100 to P150 per sack of 25 kilos of rice,

01:06which is equivalent to P4 to P6 per kilo.

01:09It is expected that the price of rice will really decrease in the coming month of September.

01:15It depends. If there are a lot of stocks and a lot of imported rice arrives,

01:22Although the price is high, the public is more fond of well-milled rice that is P60 per kilo.

01:29If the retailers will ask, they prefer to return the price ceiling to rice.

01:37where the regular milled was only P41 while the well-milled was P45.

01:44It would be better to have that, but with the current price, that price is not yet acceptable.

01:53Meanwhile, Maris, there are some retailers here who will buy more rice per sack

01:58so that it can be saved in any way compared to the price of rice that is sold per kilo.
