Bottom line ... Christie has no problem with the movie inspiring people to join motorcycle clubs, as long as they know what that's all about ... for real!

00:00It's a great movie.
00:04I am amazed at Nichols' ability not only as a writer, you know, but as a director.
00:11I think that America has a romance with outlaws.
00:16They have since time began and, you know, you have to remember that this country was
00:22birthed in a revolution and, you know, the founding fathers, they were outlaws themselves.
00:28So I think that this country likes to embrace the outlaw and this movie is a progression
00:36of the outlaw, if you will.
00:38It's up there on the big giant screen to look at and embrace if you want to.
00:43Do you think this will increase people wanting to join the biker clubs?
00:47Well, you know, it cuts both ways.
00:50You know, what you've got is you've got a world of males with a lot of testosterone.
00:59They're all alpha males, which I thought was interesting.
01:03It's told from a woman's perspective to me.
01:07You know, Benny's girlfriend basically tells the whole tale through interviews with Danny
01:13Lyons and, you know, the pictures and whatnot they took.
01:17But, you know, there's a lot of subtle things in this and I think that, you know, they're
01:21going to be some young boys out there, perhaps women as well.
01:25They're going to want to embrace this lifestyle.
01:27So, you know, I think it's going to have a positive impact.
01:31It certainly got violent at the end, but, you know, the outlaw bike world, it's a violent
01:37world.
01:38Michael Shannons reported he didn't learn how to ride a bike for this movie.
01:41What do you think?
01:42As a guy who's ridden, rode a bike, what, since you were 16?
01:44Right?
01:45Yeah.
01:46I've read your books.
01:47I'm a big, I'm a big Michael Shannon fan, so I'm going to give him a pass on this one,
01:52but I'm going to also offer free writing lessons to him if he wants to take me up on it.
01:59You know, it's like, I think, you know, Norman Reedus played Funny Sonny, a gentleman who
02:05I knew personally, and I was talking to John Bernthal about Funny Sonny, the role Norman
02:13did.
02:14I mean, it was, he was spot on, man.
02:15You know, Funny Sonny was a far out guy, and I wish Michael would have learned to ride,
02:21but, you know, the offer's still out there if he wants to take me up on it.
