Chichester's newest independent Coffee shop

Here's an interview with the owner of the newest coffee shop in the city.

00:00So my name's Rose and this is Robin's Nest Coffee Shop. It is an independent speciality coffee shop

00:05serving all homemade food and using lots of local producers from around the West Sussex area. So

00:12we've got some really delicious toasties, salads and homemade cakes. So I've always worked in the

00:17hospitality sector and I love this industry. I think it is such a great opportunity to

00:23make someone's day, to like create a beautiful space where people can meet up and build community.

00:30And I also just really believe in really good coffee and really good food, simple and

00:36yeah just straightforward and good coffee and food. So I wanted to create a space where people

00:42could feel at home and really welcomed. Yeah I thought I've worked in this industry for a long

00:47time and it's time for me to have a go myself so we've set this up. So we're in Baffin's Courtyard

00:54so we have other independent shops around us in this little sort of courtyard nook and they have

01:01been so supportive of us, like really directing customers in to come and see us which has been

01:06super helpful and loads of interest. Because I was working on this pretty much myself,

01:14getting it painted and ready, lots of people saw me kind of like up a ladder with a paintbrush and

01:20sanding and stuff like that. So I think there's been like, it sort of created a bit of an

01:25atmosphere of wanting to like see what we ended up with. I'm really happy with how it's gone

01:29actually in the first couple of weeks, people are sort of discovering us and they seem to really

01:33appreciate what we're doing, which is just keeping it simple and making really good food and really

01:39good coffee. Come to Robin's Nest Coffee Shop because we have really excellent ethically

01:44sourced food and coffee. We're really committed to welcoming everybody, we want this to be a

01:48really inclusive community space and yeah, come and try our delicious cakes!
