00:00What are you hoping to achieve and what do you hope changes in terms of domestic violence
00:11in the Central West by speaking out about your daughter?
00:14I think that by us speaking out it raises up just even if we can save one life by speaking
00:22out and saying how this has affected our lives and it's just not affecting our lives, it's
00:31affecting a multitude of lives around us, Christy's friends, family and everything.
00:38If even as I said by speaking out we can save one life then telling our story would have
00:46been worth it.
00:47And what do you hope the lasting legacy of Christy Armstrong is?
00:52Their girls.
00:55Yeah, her girls.
00:58Her girls are as strong as what she is and I don't know just making them aware of the
01:08abuse out there to know their worth and not to take any form of abuse.
01:16And what would you say to men, women around the Central West who might know someone who
01:23is a domestic abuser, what would you say to them to say to their what they may call friends
01:30who are actually quite bad people?
01:33Speak up, check on your mates.
01:37If you hear that your mate, friend, work colleague or whoever says something whether it be derogatory
01:45or whatever about their partner, speak up.
01:49Tell them to pull their head in.
01:52It's not okay, it's not okay to treat anybody disrespectfully.
01:58We need to teach our kids as well about kindness.
02:02There's just not enough kindness or niceness anymore.
