00:00You were heavily involved in the last two films, what was different and what were some
00:04challenges that you overcame in creating this new film?
00:07Well this is a much bigger movie than the preceding two, just in terms of the scope
00:11and you know the set we built to replicate New York was a huge challenge.
00:19And then you know to keep it fresh after a couple movies is always a challenge, that's
00:24the biggest challenge I guess is how do you keep this as something that people really
00:27want to see and so that's something that we really talked a lot about.
00:32And why do you think that Joseph and Lupita are the perfect leads for this film?
00:36Well it's easy to say that they are right now, but I mean they're both great actors,
00:40but as great as actors as they are, their chemistry is amazing and you can't ever bet
00:46on that when you're casting two people who don't know each other, that's something that
00:50kind of organically happened on set and I think it makes the movie, it creates a more
00:57emotional bond for the audience when they see that because they authentically really
01:00like each other, I mean in a real way.
01:03I love that and also when everything is so quiet on set when the cameras are rolling,
01:09how is it behind the scenes, does it translate over or is it just cut and then everyone just
01:13starts chatting away?
01:14It's so loud, this movie you know, cars exploding and just the smoke machines are really loud
01:20so it's rarely very quiet.
01:22You just create that illusion for us the audience, but meanwhile while you're rolling
01:26it's just mayhem.
01:28That's correct, that's correct.
01:29I love that.
01:30Also, of course, John was very heavily involved the last two films.
01:34What part did he play this time and how involved was he in the whole process?
01:38You know, in many ways John is the architect of this franchise and you know he set the
01:43tone with the first two films and I think, you know, Michael Czarnoski was John's idea,
01:49Lupita was John's idea.
01:51I mean John has very classy, good taste and we all benefit from that.
01:55Finally, I wanted to ask you and Michael are partnering up with Post Malone for a new project.
02:00What is it like and what can you tell us about it?
02:02What's it like collaborating with Post Malone?
02:03Well listen, I've only had a couple meetings so I can't really tell you and we're working
02:08on what it's going to be, but it's based on a graphic novel and he's like a dude.
02:15A lot of creative ideas that he brings to the table.
