00:00All right, let's wrap it up with the latest going on in Canada.
00:08I know Pat was on the show yesterday talking about this new blueprint for the government.
00:13They're launching a regulated online gambling market in Alberta, Canada.
00:17Do you think that this happens?
00:20Yeah, I think it'll happen by the end of the year.
00:22They seem pretty optimistic from the reporting that Pat did.
00:25It's kind of the only steps forward are going to be negotiating with the 45
00:29First Nations tribes and the land-based casino operators.
00:32But it could be a really big opportunity for the global gaming companies that are trying to get in the state.
00:38It's the fourth largest province in Canada and home to 3.3 million adults where importantly the legal age of gambling is only 18.
00:47So that opens up a bigger market to these companies and it's going to use Ontario's model as a blueprint.
00:53And market analysts are suggesting that that could mean about 700 million dollars in gaming revenue in the first year,
01:00which would be I believe the seventh largest market in North America for gaming operators.
01:05So could be a huge boon for companies like DraftKings, FanDuel that, you know,
01:10haven't got much traction in terms of legalizing iGaming and sports betting in the States.
01:14Now you go up north, you have this huge market, which most importantly is going to have iGaming,
01:19which would be a huge, huge boon to their business.
01:21So we'll have to see what happens at the end of the year,
01:23but it's looking pretty good right now for the gaming companies who want to enter Canada.
