In May 1960 she was portrayed on the cover of Life. Among her best-known films is The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1962). In 1965 she received a Golden Globe nomination as best female television star for her performance in the episode Tyger, Tyger of the television series Doctor Kildare, while at the 1971 Golden Globes she was nominated for best actress in a drama series for the series The Most Deadly Game. Among her most significant roles during the seventies, that of Dinah Hunter, a woman involved in a series of events nightmarish, in the horror Excess of Defense (1976) by Michael Miller.
