00:00at older voters, who are going to be the majority of the folks who vote in this election,
00:06are divided politically. 50 to 64 year olds are the most Republican age group we have in our
00:13electoral, in our electorate today. Seniors, however, are leaning Democrat in these congressional
00:18districts by five points. And I think what you're seeing here is a demographic evolution. If you
00:25think of who the seniors are today, those who are age 65 and older, there's only about five more
00:30years of baby boomers who haven't hit age 65 yet. These are folks who grew up and became politically
00:37aware in the late 60s and 70s, the Vietnam War, civil rights. They've leaned more Democratic
00:43throughout their lives, and now they're in this 65 year old age group. The folks behind them,
00:49those age 50 to 64, they became politically aware under Ronald Reagan. They've been more
00:55conservative their whole lives. So there are certainly things that happen at your life stage
01:01that influences your politics, but there's also things that happen early in your lives that
01:05stick with you throughout. And that's what we're seeing here. Today's seniors are a little bit
01:10more Democratic than we've seen in election cycles in the past.
