00:00A Drupal header of WNBA action on this Thursday.
00:07It's been a quiet week in the W.
00:08No games Monday, Commissioners Cup Final on Tuesday out on Long Island.
00:14Congrats once again to the Minnesota Lynx for knocking off the New York Liberty by 594.89
00:19outright as a five and a half point underdog.
00:23No games yesterday, so we're back in action with a set of four on this Thursday.
00:28Speaking of those Lynx, their sixth consecutive victory entering the Commissioners Cup Final
00:34against the New York Liberty now make that seven straight wins.
00:38The Cup Final, though, does not affect your regular season record like the other Commissioners
00:43Cup games did leading into that championship contest.
00:47But already a trophy for the Lynx and one of three teams around the WNBA-JY with 13
00:53or more wins alongside Connecticut and the New York Liberty.
00:56The best record in the W at 15 and 3.
01:00But it's an early start today in Dallas, 1 p.m. Eastern time for Minnesota.
01:04They're a nine and a half point favorite on the road against the Wings, who have the worst
01:08record in the league at 3 and 13.
01:11Is it a sleepy spot for the Lynx?
01:13I would think so, but I think when you look at a coach like Cheryl Reeve, who's one of
01:18the best coaches in the WNBA, they're going to be focused.
01:20This team was undervalued tremendously for the start of the season, so I do think they're
01:24going to cover this spread.
01:26Because if you look at the other side of the Dallas Wings, Coach Latricia Tramble's team
01:30has struggled mightily.
01:31Satu Sabli, who's the most improved player, about a 20-point game score last year, hasn't
01:36played all year.
01:37They traded Marina Mabry, Eureka Owumbo-Ali's best friend and backcourt mate from Notre
01:41Dame, and the Dallas Wings, they sent her to Chicago, and it's part of a full rebuild.
01:45Hello, what are they looking at?
01:47Yeah, her name is Paige Becker's next year.
01:50But so when you look at a team like Dallas, they're going to struggle.
01:54Minnesota, their defense always travels.
01:56I think if you look at it, you take Minnesota minus a point, I would go look at Eureka Owumbo-Ali
02:01to go over with no Maddie Segrist as well.
02:03She's going to have to get her shots off.
02:05And don't sleep on Kayla McBride.
02:07She's really a sniper, and in fact, Dallas does not play strong defense, particularly
02:11on the perimeter.
02:12You want to take a look at parity in the WNBA, you're probably not going to get that today.
02:16Four games here, you take a look at 9.5, 10.5, 11, and 8.5 as those spreads.
02:20Another one up here, Connecticut Sun and the Washington Mystics.
02:22Overnight, that line at the FanBull Sportsbook, Coach, was 8.5.
02:25We now see 10.5 and other outlets up to 11 here.
02:28Sun-Mystics for us today.
02:30Sun-Mystics, oh boy, Mystics are bad.
02:32They're bad.
02:33They're bad.
02:34And here's the thing, folks.
02:36The Connecticut Sun are the most intriguing team to me right now in the WNBA because they
02:39have a great record, but their schedule has been awful.
02:44Anytime they've played a good team, Vegas Aces on the road, take an L.
02:49Seattle Storm on the road, take an L.
02:51New York Liberty at home, take an L. But everyone else, they beat the snot out of because
02:57of that defense and the fact that they play the slowest pace in the WNBA, but also have
03:02the highest defensive efficiency.
03:05So if you don't want to go with taking the points, I would say this.
03:10Take the Washington team total under because they're going to lock you down and they do
03:14a good job of playing half-court basketball.
03:17And let's be honest.
03:18Washington already struggles to score anyway, line them up versus a great defensive team
03:22and a slow pace.
03:23It seems like Mystics under to me.
03:24I love handicapping the Connecticut Sun because the total is 152.5.
03:29That's a college basketball number, not what you see in the W. However, for the Sticks,
03:34of course, they got off to a winless start 0-12.
03:37They won two straight.
03:38They've won four of their previous five better basketball in the nation's capital.
03:43What a duel it was again on Sunday between Kaitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, Angel
03:47Reese and the Chicago Sky.
03:49The Sky back at home in the Windy City tonight, hosting the Las Vegas Aces.
03:53With one-two straight, the point guard Chelsea Gray is back, and the Aces, Jay Wine, 11-point
03:58favorite tonight in Chicago.
04:00What's your play?
04:01My play is this.
04:02Ready for this?
04:03Rebounding under for Angel Reese.
04:07I know she's been on a double-double run here, but she's going against the Las Vegas Aces,
04:12a team that's going to want to make a statement.
04:14They're playing much better.
04:16Chelsea Gray's back.
04:17She's got a couple of practice days under her system.
04:20So listen, FanDuel's got this prop out right now with Angel Reese specials for her double-double
04:26streak.
04:27Folks, I'm not touching it, because I don't think she gets one tonight.
04:30Angel Reese goes under her rebounding prop.
04:32Eight consecutive double-doubles for Angel Reese, including a 25-point, 16-board performance
04:38in Sunday's one-point victory over Indiana.
04:41Speaking of the Fever, they're on the road tonight in the Northwest.
04:44It's the final game of four.
04:46They're an eight-and-a-half-point underdog against the Seattle Storm.
04:48Is the line justified in favor of Seattle?
04:51It's justified, but I got a feeling here that the Fever are going to cover the spread.
04:56I think they're going to be in this game.
04:58They're playing better.
04:59Also, if you want a double-double, not Angel Reese, Aaliyah Boston hit a double-double
05:02machine the last five or six games.
05:04Indiana has won five of its previous seven games after only two wins in its first 11.
