00:00This just in, there are two asteroids headed towards Earth, expected to come pretty close
00:09by cosmic standards.
00:10Each of the hurtling space rocks will zip by our planet within just 42 hours of one
00:14another, something also extremely rare, and both have been labeled as potentially hazardous.
00:20One of the asteroids is roughly the size of a mountain, and will be the largest one to
00:23have recently whizzed by Earth.
00:25It's around 1.4 miles wide, with the ESA pointing out that's bigger than 99% of all
00:31near-Earth objects.
00:32That means it is what is often referred to as a planet killer, or an asteroid the likes
00:36of which cause the dinosaurs to go extinct.
00:39That one will only come within 4 million miles of us, however the other will come quite a
00:43bit closer.
00:44Asteroid 2011-UL21 is only between 390 and 885 feet across, however it will pass nearly
00:52as close as the moon, with the smaller of the two asteroids coming within 184,000 miles
00:57of Earth.
00:58Luckily the European Space Agency has done the math, and have concluded there is a 0%
01:02chance either will collide with us.
