Thunderhead was formed in 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana by members of various local bands. During their existence they released two LPs and 1975's "Thunderhead" was their debut one. The sound developes on the heavier end of the Southern rock spectrum, with driving rhythm, great guitar playing sometimes with excellent twin guitars, and killer harmony vocals, and combines tough rock moves with surprisingly commercial touches. The album was produced by Johnny Winter who also played some guitar and added some harmony vocals with his brother Edgar.
