00:00PNP Maritime Group personnel carried out an entrapment operation after receiving information that a loose firearm was being sold on social media.

00:13In the surveillance video, two men were seen talking in Taguig City earlier this afternoon.

00:19When it appeared that the man was wearing a uniform, he was already held by the man he was talking to.

00:25The PNP Maritime Group personnel then went out to arrest him.

00:41The suspect, who was selling firearms for up to P20,000, was in contact with the Maritime Group personnel on social media.

00:49Our cyber patrollers were engaged on Facebook Messenger and there was a transaction.

00:58Earlier, at 1.30 p.m. in Taguig, our operatives were arrested.

01:03The suspect was wearing a uniform of the Philippine Navy.

01:06Allegedly, we arrested a member of the Philippine Navy. We are still verifying that.

01:13He was wearing a uniform and he even had an ID. So we're still in the process of verifying if he's really a legitimate member of the Philippine Navy.

01:23According to the suspect, the gun was just borrowed from him.

01:26It is still not known if the suspect has been selling firearms for a long time or if he just did it for the first time.

01:32He was given a 9mm caliber pistol, bullets and marked money.

01:37We have to account to firearms. At the same time, one less loose firearm in the market is one less crime that could happen to our countrymen.

01:47The investigation into the sale of the loose firearm of the arrested suspect continues.
