Trapped in Greece: Seeking Justice Amid Bureaucratic Roadblocks

Over a decade marked by relentless efforts and repetitive visits to ‘SolidarityNow,’ my quest for assistance was met with consistent bureaucratic evasion. On December 28th, 2023, the deficient support for refugees became painfully evident. My attempts to engage staff were dismissed contemptuously, revealing a concerning deletion of my communications and an initial denial of complaint forms, illustrating systemic neglect and deliberate obstruction.

Efforts to formalize my grievance were further thwarted by unprovoked hostility and police involvement. Expedited dismissal without documentation accompanied xenophobic remarks, mirroring an institutional strategy to suppress refugee voices through intimidation. This interaction reflected a broader organizational ethos designed to erode confidence and maintain power dynamics, further alienating individuals seeking fundamental rights and support.

Persistent follow-ups, including an unproductive visit on April 05th, 2024, accentuated deliberate obstruction, from evasive staff to withheld information. Upon subsequent inquiry on April 12th, locked offices and blocked communications reaffirmed a pattern of systematic neglect. The institution’s tactics, from diversion to direct force, underscored an insidious intent to deny refugees due process and basic human rights, perpetuating an environment of exclusion and discrimination.
