18वीं लोकसभा के पहले सत्र में बुधवार को आपातकाल को लेकर एक प्रस्तावना स्पीकर ओम बिरला ने पेश की। इसमें इमरजेंसी का खंडन किया गया था। प्रस्तावना के पेश होने पर कांग्रेस सांसदों ने सदन में जमकर बवाल काटा। इस पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए बीजेपी नेता रोहन गुप्ता ने कहा कि साल 1975 में आपातकाल के दौरान हुआ था आज जो लोग संविधान बढ़ाने की बात करते हैं उन्हीं की पार्टी में आपातकाल में जिस प्रकार से संविधान की हत्या की गई उसे इतिहास के पन्ने से कोई हटा नहीं सकता है और आपको यह तय करना पड़ेगा कि कभी भी भविष्य में ऐसी घटना ना हो, आपातकाल देश के लोकतंत्र और संविधान पर एक काला धब्बा है। आज कांग्रेस ने विरोध किया है तो ये उनकी मानसिकता दिखाता है कई बार उनके नेता कहते हैं कि गलत हुआ है तो उसे मान लीजिए उससे दूर क्यों भाग रहे हैं।
