00:00Faisal has received this DC of the year award competing amongst 8 chapters.
00:11This is a person who loves a challenge and moreover he is able to overcome the challenge.
00:18He's done a brilliant job and today it's testament to being DC of the year.
00:26It's a great testament for his character in itself.
00:30My dad was a captain in a merchant navy.
00:41So one of the days he fell sick and then from that moment onwards my responsibility made
00:48me come to Dubai.
00:58So I came in 2005 June to search for a job.
01:03On the last day of my visit visa, which I'm providing to thousands of people right now,
01:07I got my first job in Dubai.
01:10Faisal was more someone who was not thinking of business because his brother already has
01:18a business.
01:19So he always wanted to kind of be into something which is you know more hospitality driven
01:23and he was very happy about his industry, his hotel industry and all of that.
01:28I was always his entrepreneur side and I always felt that we should have something of our
01:32own.
01:33So starting a business was majorly because of my wife and my family of course but wife
01:39played a major hand and my wife was working and she said I will support you no matter
01:43what you go ahead take a risk if you fail at the max we'll get back to work again no
01:48problem I'm there to support you.
01:53So B&I I think happened to you what seven eight years ago 2017 March.
02:03First memory of Faisal him walking into the same floor 20th floor actually as a visitor
02:10he came in I think with another two or three colleagues of his on on that day I can still
02:16very well remember that day he came in he understood the B&I philosophy the policy and
02:21I think he was immediately convinced that he should become a member.
02:25He's been inducted in front of me and the moment we saw him like we really realized
02:30that one really bubbly healthy bubbly gentleman who came and really positive energy guy has
02:38come to the our chapter.
02:43The idea of getting into B&I was making relationship I saw doctors in the room lawyers in the room
02:48I saw some big companies or CEOs in the room and I said okay where else I can find these
02:54kind of people at one platform my daughters and I have coined this three three things
03:00which are very important in Faisal's life one is of course hashtag second is B&I and
03:05third is his beauty sleep sometimes when I go for a blood test my wife says do you have
03:10any other problem other than B&I because they say B&I is no blood.
03:23China has identified the cause of the mysterious new virus coronavirus COVID-19 can be characterized
03:31as a pandemic.
03:37I mean during the tough times of even COVID he's one member that you know had a lot of
03:42issues because he's from the travel trade right and which is one of the hardest hit
03:46and there were these two instances which I remember very vividly one was you know one
03:51of his friends was in the hospitality industry you know he died on the spot he got an attack
03:58and the other one committed was who had his own travel business committed suicide so when
04:03I heard these two instances in a span of a month's time I was really scared.
04:14So that's the time I told him like listen you know don't stress out you know whatever
04:19it takes just do it we're going to be there for you so that was the time Faisal had called
04:26me one day and said Mujahid we've got to do something.
04:35So we both together discussed and sat he said okay I've got a guy who's into IT so we both
04:39together can incorporate a company related to IT and this is the time when people would
04:44want to have a marketing globally generally people would try to save money and wouldn't
04:48take any risk at all but during this period because of his thinking because of his perseverance
04:54and resilience we were able to collaborate and incorporate a company and we started off
05:00well and in fact in the beginning itself because of his connections because of his you know
05:05the way he maintained relationship with the people he was able to get the projects.
05:11For me right now when I think of past now what happened at the right time because during
05:15COVID time I was bleeding money COVID taught me how to optimize resources how to maximize
05:21your resources and maximize your revenue where to stop bleeding that introspection
05:27happened in that four months there was no business.
05:30So he was very very honest and very diligent and resilient at what he did and today he
05:37is he's bounced back and we're all proud of him.
05:41It's not about just being faced with a challenge but being able to overcome that is a big character
05:49and I think those are the type of people we always keep looking out for in our DNA.
05:55We were 29 members and then I took over as the president and the first meeting I had
06:00with him as ambassador was Javed sahib don't get pressured don't be under any kind of pressure
06:10just do your bit he said it with so much of commitment and so much of conviction that
06:17I believed in him and I've been believing in him all along.
06:20I got into ambassador role in Continental after six months the DC of Continental left
06:27I got an opportunity I was asked about which chapter I want to take it up I was given an
06:32options of two chapters and I said Continental and I saw Continental as an extension of my
06:39family in Synergy.
06:41He was very instrumental he was always available and one best thing about Faisal is he's always
06:47on the whatsapp group so if he sees any members performance if he sees anyone doing well
06:52he's always there to appreciate and one of our core values is recognition and I think
06:58when members are recognized they perform better.
07:06Synergy gave me a lot of love in return I had made a I have put in a lot of efforts
07:10of course as a member to make my visibility have an impact but I've learned a lot from
07:16BNI how to be an entrepreneur what skillsets do we need to have fellow members have taught
07:22me how do you have to present yourself as a business person because I'm not coming from
07:26a business family I'm a first-generation businessman from my family so basically whatever I have
07:31learned you see in business is mostly from BNI.
