00:00Usually, you know, I come in here, it's business as usual,
00:02but I'm doing an interview with Essence in my warehouse.
00:06Like, my warehouse.
00:08I started in a room in my house,
00:11but I am definitely proud of my growth,
00:13and yeah, thank you, Essence, for capturing it.
00:16Hey, Essence, this is Jessica Harris-Dupart
00:19with Kaleidoscope Hair Products,
00:21and I wanna give you a tour.
00:23Come on in!
00:25This is the waiting area, the reception area.
00:29This is my beautiful sign.
00:30I absolutely love colors.
00:32You'll be able to tell when I walk you through.
00:35We have colors dripping down every part of the wall.
00:40We have universal bathrooms.
00:43We have a meditation room,
00:45if anybody needs to let off some steam
00:48or wanna do some yoga.
00:50We have active offices.
00:52So this is our sample office.
00:53Don't judge, don't judge.
00:56This is the break area.
01:00This is our green screen wall.
01:04I also have a closet here full of clothes and shoes
01:08for when we do content,
01:09or if any of the staff need anything at any point in time,
01:12they're more than welcome.
01:14No questions asked.
01:15And of course, I don't know if you guys know my history,
01:20but I'm a licensed hairstylist.
01:22So anywhere I go,
01:23I make sure to bring the salon with me.
01:24We have a vintage-inspired chandelier
01:28that has rollers because I love roller sets, okay?
01:32So this is a custom chandelier,
01:34and you will see them all down the hallway
01:36just to bring my history with me.
01:39Then we have the content room.
01:42You're more than welcome to come in.
01:45Now, so this glass door makes me feel like I made it.
01:51It gives, I don't know, you've made it.
01:54It gives you're far.
01:55It gives corporate.
01:58We have different backgrounds
02:00placed on different parts of the room.
02:02So somebody can shoot a video here with a background,
02:04shoot a video here with a background,
02:06shoot a video here.
02:09This space is often used for our content creators.
02:11And then of course, as before, I like custom stuff.
02:16I like to bring in especially stuff
02:18that's particular for Kaleidoscope.
02:20These are our brushes.
02:22So each of these is a brush that Kaleidoscope
02:24either offered at one point or still offers.
02:27And so we decided to hang it from the lights.
02:29And then this is my office.
02:32I'm a person that has said a million times,
02:34and I'll say it again, I love colors.
02:36So that's what my office clearly reflects.
02:39I've come here probably five to 10 times since we opened.
02:43I do not use it often,
02:44but I make sure that it is a space that is effective for me.
02:50I have meetings here virtually.
02:52So I haven't had plenty of meetings in person,
02:55but you know, have a warehouse, have an office,
02:58or so they say.
02:59These are some of the accolades that I have.
03:03What is this one?
03:05This is, yeah, like proclamations
03:08and stuff from when I was in New Orleans.
03:12I do not have my Atlanta ones here.
03:14This is my father who's passed away.
03:16This is also my puppy who's passed away.
03:20And this is a fancy kaleidoscope, by the way.
03:23This thing is real and it's heavy.
03:26It's real fancy.
03:27You look in it, it's a kaleidoscope, so yeah.
03:32Now let's get to the money.
03:34Let me go take you to where all of the action happens.
03:38Come on, guys.
03:39This is real numbers of kaleidoscope and its growth.
03:45We did over a thousand percent above the retail.
03:47The retail is category average at some point.
03:52This is the money shot, okay?
03:56In the warehouse, we have our D2C packages happening.
03:59Everybody's working.
04:01We have stations for everybody to be at.
04:03We make sure that they nice and cool,
04:05keep the doors open, keep the fans on.
04:09And then we have millions of dollars
04:13of inventory on the floor.
04:14When I say that, I only say that
04:16because in order for you to keep this type of stuff
04:19on the floor, you have to have pay for it
04:20and we have to have a demand for it.
04:22So I am proud to have grown the company to this,
04:25not by myself, definitely with a team.
04:27But yes, let's go to the salon.
04:31This is the salon.
04:33Come in, guys.
04:36Oh, boy, they got stuff everywhere.
04:39Besides you guys' cameras.
04:42As a licensed stylist, even though I don't do hair,
04:44I will always give kudos
04:48and make sure to have something reminiscent of it.
04:51So this is not a salon that we actively use.
04:54We do content here, but I just have to have it everywhere.
